Default Parking Sensors not working

My parking sensors first gave a warning that they needed to be cleaned, so I got the car cleaned. That did not help and now they dont work at all. Any suggestions?

There are several posts about this problem for different model Lexus vehicles. In some cases, its as simple as too much precipitation or condensation of some sort interfering with the sensor requiring. A few things to try:

1) A targeted wash particularly on the sensors in the bumper with warm, soapy water.
2) Turn off your Park Assist feature manually, turn it back on, and see if the message comes back/sensors begin to work.
3) Disconnect the battery for 10min as a "reset."

The likelihood is that one or more of the sensors have a rock chip, a hairline crack or some other damage that isn't obvious. The damage could be causing the problem or allowing moisture to settle in which causes the problem. Maybe get real close and compare the outer part of the sensors to see if there is any damage at all...Sorry to say that if they turn out to be damaged, replacing sensors is a bit pricey as the sensors themselves tend to be expensive.

I had a damaged sensor on my 2013. No matter how well I cleaned it it always said there was something in front of my car and beeped at me with the red symbol when I was going slowly enough. There was a tiny paint chip visible on one sensor. Turned the sensors off and didn’t use them anymore after I saw the price to fix them.

My 2017 sensors easily get caked with snow in the winter and will activate at low speed because of that. I just turn them off until there’s no snow. So far so good, but I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them gets damaged in the future.

good luck.
