So I needed to replace my tpms sensors on my car. I first bought what I thought were OEM equivalent sensors from advance auto parts and had discount tire installed them. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...earchTerm=tpms
All the sensors worked on the scan tool and was measuring the pressure but the car was not displaying it and the TPMS was still on.
Then I went to a different shop and they tried aftermarket sensors but the same thing happened.
I then went to a different discount tire and they installed OEM sensors. They showed me the packaging and it looked like OEM and had the part-number. However it wasn't the 42607-30060 part number. It was suppose to be installed on another customer's car but they cancelled. The same thing happened. They said it was showing on the scan tool but it wasn't showing on my car and the light was still on.
Finally, I decided to go to a Toyota dealership and try to have them reprogram it. They said they were able to get the light to go away but once they put the car in reverse or drive it would come back on. Then they said the sensors numbers or IDs didn't match Toyota or Lexus OEM parts.
I think I can get a refund from discount tire for this but I have no idea what to do at this point. I don't want to go to the dealership to do this because both a Lexus and Toyota one has estimated it to be around $900 total to do everything.
I want to get the Denso sensors from RockAuto and have discount tire installed them but I'm afraid its not going to work; either the same thing is going to happen or they can't program it and I have to go to the dealership to do it.
I read from other forums that they had this done at discount tire and it worked but I just want to make sure. I lost about $142 from doing this due to the $70 diagnosis fee and $72 discount tire installing the first sensors so this has been very frustrating. Or is there other shops that would install and program the Densos? Also are the Densos the best to buy besides from the dealership? The dealership is selling them for about $20 more but I want to save as much money as possible now considering I already lost some money. https://parts.lexusoforland.com/p/Le...260730060.html
I might just live with the light being on and pressure not displaying but any advice or help would be appreciated.
I located near Chicago, IL and my model is a 2013 GS 350 AWD if that helps. Thank You!
Usually the system doesn't display the air pressures until the vehicle is in drive or park. Even though most sensors transmit actual air pressure they aren't all designed to do it in a way that the vehicle can display it. Weird I know but the OEM Dill / Denso/ Pacific Industrial sensor is specific to the vehicle. The link you have for Advance Auto is bad but I'm assuming you bought the Pacific sensor. That should have been the original. So here is were a lot of installers have issues, because most scan tools don't have all the proper program info in their training instructions. I have programmed many sensors on Toyota/ Lexus and we learned something that we do on all Toyota's. After the sensors are programmed to the vehicle without turning the vehicle off you need to go around the vehicle and scan each sensor again so the vehicle ECU confirms it. If the light was still on after the relearn that almost always turns it off. If that doesn't work sometimes the car needs to sit with the key still on for a while. Even if the light turns off immediately after programming if you don't do the last step sometimes the tire light comes on days later. Since we started doing this we have had very few issues. This is one of the few instructional videos showing the proper way. https://www.dillvalves.com/wp-conten...s/RL-A1203.pdf
My car has the same problem. I just live with the idiot light. I recently had new Michelin Pilots installed; they checked the TPMS with a scanner plugged into OBD II I think... Said no error.
It should not be this difficult.
I am going to follow this thread... Good luck!
Anything other than the original Lexus/Toyota/Denso sensor will not work. I had a sensor replaced by an independent tire shop. The Denso/Lexus sensor doesn't need any programing, just need tool to relearn sensors.
Write the unique sensor IDs to the vehicle's computer
Assign the IDs to the correct wheel position (for vehicles that display pressure by location)
I can do this with techstream on my laptop or I think Carista can do this too.
Pretty sure Pacific Industrial makes the OEM sensor but it is also sold by Denso and Dill
It even has Pacific Industrial printed on the pics posted above.

So, if I get the Denso from Rock Auto will discount tire be able to install and relearn them? I had them install the Pacific Industrial from Advance Auto Parts but it didn't work. It showed on the their scan tool but my car's TMPS light was still flashing and no pressure was showing. Also, they can still relearn them if I don't have my original sensors and 3 sets have been installed since?

Im pretty sure the Pacifics installed the first time were the right ones they just didn’t follow all the steps I posted. It’s weird because you might only have your issue in 1 of 20 cars or 5 in a row. It just happens.

They may have sold you a sensor not is made for your model\build year. Lexus does change the sensor from build year to build year.
You don't need to have the original sensor. If they are Pacific Industrial\Denso, made for your build year, they should be able to register the sensor with the TMPS computer via OBDII.
From your original post, it doesn't sound like they register the sensors to your vehicle.
