Dealer listing

The auction listing from Copart

Looks to have only had front driver side damage. I think this could be a good deal for someone (upon inspection)

What are you guys thoughts?

Think I see some side skirt damage in the auction pics as well

I guess if I were looking for one and wanted that color I would possibly consider it. The damage seemed mainly cosmetic. I would probably want to see the paperwork from the body shop on what they did and I would certainly take it to my mechanic to check out. Looks like there could have been a little damage to the front edge of the hood near where it meets the fender. Can't tell if that's a missing paint or a reflection - it looks more like missing paint to me. I'd also want to see what a comparable car with no damage was running - I'd expect a bit of a discounted price, although in the current market that might be unrealistic.

Nah, I wouldn't unless you plan on keeping it forever. You can find some clean title models selling for under 30k. I'd pay more to avoid reselling issues in the future due to it's salvage title.

Yeah I would stay away from a car that has been in an accident, no matter how minor it is. The factory paint is not easy to match and there will be other hidden damages that we don't know like broken clips, cracked this, cracked that, bent frames, etc. But I'm OCD.

A clean low miles 14-15 F Sport is about $26K+. Assuming this was repaired correctly and everything checked out, I'd offer 19K. Doesn't have ML either.

Maybe even $18K

Yeah I agree, my days of owning rebuilt cars are over. My first two cars - an 04 and 07 Camry V6 were both rebuilt and they both had broken clips/bumpers not seated correctly hahaha

The details showed the car was valued around $24k and the estimated damage was $19k. The damage doesn't look bad however if the estimate was 19k, i would imagine that would be at least for a new headlight/bulbs, new fender and...

If you look carefully, the steering wheel looks straight, but the damaged side shows the wheel as off-center...this would make sense to signal significant amount of suspension/brake damage, fix and replacement needed (potentially control arms, AVS shocks, wheel/tire/tpms, caliper, rotor, pads etc.) to get to that 19k original repair estimate. RWD F-Sport brake/suspension components are pricey!

I'd say it would be a pass - too many variables.

No. Why the listing would show a pic with fluid leaking underneath is really Dumb too.

I hit a flying wood plank in a 2020 ES Premium and scuffed the driver's side headlight and fender, dented the bumper pretty good, knocked out my driver side mirror cap and sent the mirror itself flying. $7000+ in damages.

They had to replace one headlight (non triple-beam) and bumper too I think and repainted the fender and replaced the mirror cap and mirror itself + the safety system calibration. I could imagine the GS will cost more with similar damages. GS parts aren't cheap.

Traded in that sucker the day I picked it up from the body shop for a new 2021 ES FSport.

I hit a curb underwater in a parking lot that was a Triangle island so not just one curb, but 2 curbs in My ES350. No body damage, $7k too in suspension. Started out $3800 went to $7k. Every time I got it back for addition repairs it vibrated less until they finished $7k. lol!

I sold it before it showed on the Carfax report. But I did tell the buyer and it drove perfect so they did not care.

It looks like a nice car, and with a clean title would be a smoking deal for that price, but in Ohio, if a vehicle has a rebuilt or salvage title, from what I hear can't be driven on the road. I could be wrong or misinformed on that, but also do know it would be tough to insure.
