When removing you put your hand behind the mirror on the plastic part and pull hard. Don’t put pressure on the mirror part itself.
When reinstalling apply even pressure on the front center of the mirror. That’s backed by the plastic part that clicks into the back of the mirror.

When I get the new piece, I'm going to take my time and be gentle. I feel like a fool, but a more educated fool.

Yes, make sure it's a metal hammer. A sledgehammer works best though. One tap and ur whole car goes to the junk yard.

I hate when things happen like that. My friend has a really nice 2015 SRT Grand Cherokee and was buffing it the other day and the head flew off the buffer. It happened so fast he ended up grinding it into the panel and it destroyed his paint.

I detailed for years and never had this happen to me, thankfully. That sounds AWFUL.

I'm glad I don't have a bad temper like I did 20 years ago. I would have smashed the whole mirror off haha. Older age has it's benefits lol

Don't think I ever answered this.. Sorry man. These are the ones above the sun visors, u know when u slide the mirror cover open and the light on top lights up yellow? Now mine is the same color as the puddle lights and of course, the trunk light too. All using the same brand and type LED bulbs. So not a mix and match. Yes OCD plays a part in that too.

What about your reverse lights. Did you change those too? Any other lights?
