INSANE Squeaking after brake job...
I just replaced the brake pads and discs on my 2015 GS 350 F-Sport last week and I have been getting some insane squeaking...
It is particularly loud when the brakes are cold. It's much better after warming up, but sometimes the squeak can still be loud at certain brake pressure.
What I used: Akebono ACT1118 and ACT1391A pads with Dynamic Friction 604-75036 (rear) + 604-75034D + 604-75035D.
The dude at the brake shop took a quick look and said he's 100% positive that it is because of the coating on the discs.
He recommended getting new pads and getting them installed. Does this even make sense? I don't mind spending some extra bucks to get this done, but I am just afraid that new pads might not fix the problem...
Any suggestion?

I believe there's is quite a long debate with regards to which pads/rotors to use to reduce/eliminate brake squealing. I think from what I've read from the threads is that the TSB shim set for the pads is absolutely mandatory for any brand of pad you run (though I wasn't exactly able to piece together if they are compatible with non-OEM pads) and some even suggest to only run the TSB OEM pads/shims. I definitely remember reading that the TSB shims set eliminated brake squealing for a lot of people, I'm sure some others can comment on that.
That being said, Akebono ceramic pads are some of the highest quality pads you can buy on the market, and I've extensively run them with 0 issues on other cars. However, at the moment I am running the OEM pads (with TSB shims) along with OEM rotors on my GS350, as that is what the previous owner had installed at the dealer, and I have not experienced any brake squealing whatsoever.
I don't think it would because of the coating on the rotors, I've used coated rotors on many cars in the past and never had squealing due to them.
Before buying any new pads, I would first make sure that you fully lubricated all the points on the pads with a good quality lubricant. I personally use Permatex Ceramic extreme brake lubricant for all metal-metal contact points (front pads specifically have a lot) and Sil-glyde for any other contact point that may come into contact with rubber (to avoid swelling any rubber). Often times in the past on previous cars, 99% of the time the squealing was eliminated once I re-lubricated all the metal-metal contact points specifically.
If it still persists you could try to the route of getting the OEM shims, and if the squeal doesn't end there I think your best bet would be new OEM pads to go along with them, though I'm sure others with more experience in GS brake jobs can definitely provide more advice from experience.

In that thread I mentioned above, other members used the same Akebono pads you have up front with the OEM one piece front rotors and complained about the squealing.
You could try getting the updated OEM front pads listed (04465-30540) but its unclear if the OEM Lexus pads in conjunction with those Dynamic Friction aftermarket rotors will be a winner...but it might be worth a shot if you can get the OEM front pad set for under $100 to see...

Do you happen to know whether the shim kit is part of the TSB? 04945-30350 has 8 pieces while 04945-30340 only has 4 pieces. Looking at the diagrams, it seems like 8 pieces are needed for 1 axle but the thread starter got the 04945-30340 and worked fine.

Brakes can make noise even if everything else is good and they are not bed in properly. Akebono pads with no break in don't seem to do this, but you should try to bed them in to get some good pad material on those rotors, especially the rear setup.

I haven't done brakes yet on the GS but on a prior car I had an insane squeal issue with Akebonos, and other pads as well. I tried lube, other shims, chamfering the edges and bedding. Unfortunately nothing worked aside from finding the correct combination of pads and rotors. I went through 4 sets of different pads and it was an expensive (and embarrassing) journey. On that vehicle, the fronts were squealing while the rears with the same Akebono formulation (but different rotor) were silent. This may not be the case here but its possible the combo of x pad and y rotor creates a vibration that is expressed as the squeal.

I think you are definitely correct. There are a number of combinations that just won't work out I guess. There are already a lot of complaints with Akebono for GS F-Sport's front brake pads. I just ordered the shim kit and TBS pads. I would trade a 1000% increase in dust for a normal ride now. It's super embarrassing as I am in the city and all the pedestrians just stare at me at every intersection.
