Would you buy the New GS if……..
I totaled my 2015 GS350 F-Sport in January so I have been looking for a replacement.
I hope no one has to find a car in these times, very few choices!!!
So I have looked at the LS 500, I saw it has a 3.5l V6 Twin Turbo motor. I never knew. Duh for me.
So would you but the GS F-Sport if-
A- if the 3.5l V6 Twin Turbo was an option?
B- if the F-Sport only had the 3.5l V6 Twin Turbo?

Sorry to hear about your GS - There is some great perspective here on fellow members that have owned/driven both the GS350 and LS500: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...-an-ls500.html
I have never driven a Lexus product with a turbo. However, if the only powerplant in the GS was the Twin Turbo, i'd first want to test drive it (maybe a few times) to get a good impression of its characteristics before pulling the trigger. Do you plan on cross shopping an LS500 with a GS350?

That V6 TT LS is likely my next Lexus car if........ they don't cost like 40% more than Value.

I would love to get another GS350 F-Sport if they were in production.
I like the new technology these 20/21 and 22 models have so going to a 17 or 18 model yr car doesn’t float my boat.
Im looking at the Lexus LS 500, Mercedes S Class and the Genesis G90 and G80.
I’m leaning towards the G90 with the 5.0 V8
The technology in that car is awesome. The G80 has some things I like but it feels smaller than the GS.
I’ll reply when I get a car, hopefully this weekend. 3/18

I would not. The 2GR and the Aisin 6-Speed are known quantities and I plan on keeping this car for several hundred thousand miles. I have very little info about the long term reliability of the TTV6 and the 10spd transmission. LS500s are just now barely coming off lease, and I don't know of any that have 6 digits on the odometer yet.

Of course I would buy the GS if it had the 8GR-FXS, is this is a trick question? That engine makes 100 more HP than the 2GR-FSE while getting the same fuel economy.
I put full faith in Toyota and their engineers, when and why did we start questioning Toyota when it comes to reliability?
Turbo's have been around a long time, enough time for issues to be ironed out, it's not a new invention.

They should have put the TTV6 on the new GS but instead they chose FWD and ES250 AWD. Biggest joke of the century.
I would happily upgrade to a newer GS, even if they did like the IS, only a refresh on the skin but put that TTV6 in it. No need for a full redesign, this chassis is already good. But this car with that engine would probably smoke all the F cars and they won't like that.

The Lexus GS version of the all new Mazda 6 with 48 V mild hybrid 3.0 in-line six and RWD/AWD should be out soon.

I'd give "Style" to the G80, but overall I like this. Heard the G80 was a heavy car, but I still think it handles well. I drove one.

Genesis lacks engineering finesse - so they make up with brute size and weight.
Hence, space, comfort and quietness goes to Genesis.
However, that brute size and weight compromizes the performance, efficiency and dynamics - while styling is very subjective.
Thing is, if we genuinely want a bigger heavier car, we will move to the full size class.

Pretty soon Toyota and Lexus would just be a rebranded brand. They don't make anything in house anymore, just slap their badges on other manufacturers' products. Not good boys, not good.

Down the track, the Mazda-based 5GS stop-gap will be replaced by a full blown EV...

Yeah but even the EV, they're still using tech from Subaru right? Or in this case will be Mazda's tech?
