Your most expensive repair to date
#16
So far not a single repair on mine.
Driven it over 40k km since I bought it, currently at 130k km.
I dread the day I need to change my AVS shocks.
I did have one slide pin on rear right brake stuck, probably due to bad seal.
Got it out and cleaned and greased it so now I’m going to do that every year until I get tired of it and just buy a new caliper mount.
so that’s actually the only “failure” I’ve had which was a super easy one.

I think the windshield is the most expensive repair I have paid to date. Well a deductible of $500. Front pad and rotors at $233 and both front hubs at $205. Other than that, I don't recall any major expense on my '13 GSh compared to my '06 GS300.

$400 to replace the cruise control switch/lever. Also needed leaking rear struts replaced earlier (under warranty.) My GS, purchased new, will be ten years old in a few weeks, and I’ve only driven it about 35,000 miles. Just bought four new tires.

$1500 for a tire and rim? $1k for front rotors and pads? AVS shocks? Wow. I would have a conniption if I had to pay those repairs. Pothole unavoidable, but didn’t realize a rim was so much brand new. Guess I will keep my rims with a little wheel rash on them. I did replace my battery after 8 years with Lexus. $443 at Lexus since it was still under CPO at the time. Oh, and I did the sunroof seal on my own dime for about $55. That was fun to do. Kind of….. Going to replace the Lexus plastique rear bumper protector too. Another $53 for a little piece of plastic. Tired of looking at the dirt underneath the edges when I wash her.

Shorter than factory interval replacement of all new fresh fluids and filters. Including the Transmission and Trans Filter. Also magnets placed to draw away internal wear metal particles for disposal during replacement services. Regular upper intake and de-carbon build up combustion cleaning procedures. Custom ECU tune that custom matches my optimal A/F ratio, less unburned fuel, produces better engine efficiency, less stress, a cooler running engine, and trans shift points for less engine and Trans stress.
Keeping the exterior and paint clean and protected with quality protectant sealant treatments and a schedule as observed. Including front bumper, lights, and others Wrap protected. Interior cleaning and treatments to condition, and protect, Leather, Wood, Dash, and other. I never run recir on the a/c system to not have a mold build up in the system.
I do not run over speed bumps hard and/or other to save my suspension components from harsh impacts. I monitor tire pressure, keep my car aligned, balance and rotate tires frequently to extend the max life of my tires. So that's my choice of ownership methods.

A few years ago I was in a shopping center driving my 13 ES350 U/L. It was raining very bad and flooding in some low areas. I drove out and there was a moved broken parking stop curb piece out of place on the lanes. Its was completely underwater mixed with dirt and muddy water, underwater and unable to be seen.
I ran over it at about 15mph. The car went up, it bent the rim, busted the tire sidewall and cord, damaged the drive axle and other under suspension components to the tune of $4k plus in damage. The parking lots Insurance company denied responsibility, my insurance paid, then sued them won, and refunded my deductible. It happens.

I have an appointment Tuesday at Lexus of Austin to fix my leaking radiator cap. Also getting a quote on my driver's side mirror which does not move right or left but does move up and down. Passenger side mirror works fine in all 4 directions. And another quote on headlamp washers not working.
We'll see if the dealer just wants to replace everything and charge an arm and a leg for mirror and washers or if they will actually try to fix both. Radiator cap should be cheap or under a TSB.
Called my credit union earlier today about adding an extended warranty. Doesn't cover things like mirrors and headlamp washers dang it.

I have a failed parking sensor up front.
Took forever to find a salvaged one the right color on eBay for $120. Now I have to take the bumper off to replace it.
That's the most expensive thing that has failed. 2013, 105k miles. Love this car.
