Finally got my options whittled down to a reasonable few options for my 2013 F sport rear wheel drive. Decided I am not going to OEM in order to save dollars. I am aware of the risk of this but feel the savings is worth it.
Option one: centric 120 series rotors, two piece, part number 120.44204 and 120.44205. Saw many positive reviews for these on YouTube etc. but very little particular to the GS.
Option two: stop tech sports stop drilled rotor, two piece, drilled, item number 128.4420L and 128.4420R. Saw a few very positive reviews of these on this site
Other options: EBC 7636X, Duralast gold (Auto Zone),
Pricewise, when I factor in the crazy shipping cost to Hawaii these all come out about equal in price.
For brake pads, I am definitely leaning towards the Akebono ACT’s or ASP’s. Also saw a couple mentions of the Z 23 pad from power stop. I suppose OEM would work as well, but from what I read I think I would prefer ceramic.
I know these brake threads are a running joke but it would be great to get input and advice if anyone has time.

I bought oem rotors the first time I did the brakes than got centric rotors from rock auto and didn’t notice much difference. There still holding up great.
For brake pads I used brembo front and rear and those were a bit smoother and less aggressive than the OEM pads. Only downside is that the rears didn’t last as long as I thought they would.
Imo the OEM pads have a very hard bite which I dont like but either or is fine just your preference.

[QUOTE=jgscott;11276871]gs, you going to tell me you have not seen all the brake threads with every answer that you even posted in too?
[
valid I suppose
Looks like Centric/Akebonos is the choice.

I would try to find pads and rotors that most match the factory compound & type. Minimally.
Maximally, I would get the most aggressive pad compound matched to the most aggressive factory spec. If so that would be the Textar high frictions from the 3IS F Sport. (I'm the original discoverer of this high quality german information back in 2016 as i researched the supplier, turns out it was a BMW supplier Lexus used) this explains the high performance and resulting (necessary) high dust. Great pads!!
If you really want to keep the dust down, I would get low friction/low performance Toyota "Blue backs" from same said chassis, assuming the 13 GS uses the same setup (I think it does). Toyota made these pads specifically because people were complaining about dust and noise on their performance sedans.
In other words, don't do no aftermarket ceramic-bono mixes for low dust etc. Don't do drilled stuff etc.
You can find great pad options from Toyota on eBay at super cheap prices.

Please post the part brands used. Did they replace or machine rotors? Fluid flush?
Please report back in a month or so.
