2013 AWD and I've been hearing noises when I hit a bumps or rough pavement and sounds like something is loose in the front suspension. I was thinking ball joints but when I inspected the ball joints they look good - the boot is still intact and no leakage. But what I did notice was the bushing in the lower control arm where the strut bracket attaches looked like it was worn pretty good. Does anyone know if I can order that separately or is the only way to get is with a new lower control arm.
You'll have to replace the whole control arm to get those bushings new.
I'd swap them for polyurethane if they were _bad_.
Anyways, could be a ton of things. In my case (3rd gen gs450h, front is almost the same), after inspecting everything, I just swapped the front shock absorbers since they were probably the original ones on the car - all I can say is, take off the strut tower covers and check if the shocks have blown at the top there (should be oily as all hell).
Rarely bushing failure.
Check your front shock absorbers first.
Lexus 4GS have firm shock absorbers, esp 2013-15.
The firmer the shock absorbers, the higher the internal pressures, so the sooner the seals fail - often with a clunking noise over bumps.
I changed shocks and struts about 18 months ago, so I don't think that is the problem. I'm half tempted to mount a gopro and see what might be moving around. Whatever it is, it's not loaded, IE it's free to travel up and down. I think!

A blown shock has little or no tension and is free to travel up and down...
