Replaced Courtesy Door Lights with LED Backup Lights
I went out of my way to replace the courtesy door lights with high power backup LED bulbs. The results speak for themselves.
This required me to modify the courtesy light housing to fit the about 0.25" longer bulbs. I only replaced the front door courtesy door lights with the backup LED bulbs, as I didn't think it was worth the effort for the rear door which are rarely used.
I replaced the rear door bulbs with a standard LED bulb that fits the courtesy bulb spec. The LED bulbs are about 3 times brighter than the previous glass bulbs. Totally worth the effortless 1 minute swap without risk.
A word of warning: The original glass bulbs are rated for 5watts and get very warm/hot. The rear backup LED bulbs are rated for 7.5watts and get very warm. Replace at your own risk.
Before LED bulb
After backup LED bulb

I had that on my old RC before and was going to do the same to this GS but I found out that 2019+ came with LEDs from the factory already.

My wifes audi has them on her Allroad. Car came equiped with them. Kind of defeats the purpose of providing illumination for that area.
My GS has illuminated sills. Also silly, but as a vanity thing Its cool. So we illuminate the sills and the ground next to it.
All good fun!!! LOL…………
I have read the GS interior lights on the doors is too sublime for some tastes. My wifes audi is like a freaking space ship with doors, cupholders, dash, etc. Actually, after a while, its distracting and not in the “teutonic aura” one expects. But, thats what people like.
