Default Does 2013 gs 350 have orifice tube or expansion valve in ac system?

Hello,
. My 2013 GS has intermittent cold and hot air delivered to the cabin. One day at the same temperature day, the air delivery will 40 degrees inside, and the next day it will be 55 to 60 at the coldest setting.

I'm confused, since the suction line is always cold outside, and there is no visible receiver/accumulator tank. I can't see a thermal expansion valve either, so it's possible that the metering device is under the dashboard right before the evaporator.

I have a blower recall to inspect the sensors, but I'm not sure that is the issue. I'm sure the compressor runs all the time except when the air flow temperature drops, which isn't often.
Thanks

I have a '13 as well - thought I had the servo motor issue last year but turned out to be a leak / O-ring problem which may also be your issue as well. My A/C was "cool" but never "cold." See my post and this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post11040131

What's the blower recall for a 2013?

orifice tube is typically used on domestic vehicles, although some domestics have gone the way of using expansion valves lately. japanese and german vehicles have used expansion valves in their a/c systems for well over 35 plus years. it sounds like you have more of a blend door issue. most modern day cars with expansion valve setup has the dryer built onto the condenser and is a replaceable filter cartridge. if you don't know what you are doing or looking at leave the damn thing alone as depending on which side of the a/c system you are on you can be dealing with high liquid pressure.

Default Vehicle was repaired at lexus dealership

Hello all!
. I brought the vehicle in for repair last week 6/22/2022. They quoted a price of $95.00 for investigating the vehicle, and the charge would be applied to the repair is something was needed. I was given a 2021 ES 350 free as a loaner.

The technician found there was no leak...1.24 pounds of R134 versus standard of 1.25 pounds. There were no codes, and thus no repair needed. They found the output air temp was as low as 46 degrees...NO FAULTS. They couldn't find anything wrong. However, they wanted to "clean the vents" for $190.00. I refused.

When I got the car back, the unit has worked perfectly so far. The only difference in my car was the fact that my car was in ECO mode instead of the NORMAL mode I normally drive in.

I'm satisfied that the system works well during this 85 to 90 degree weather. I'm still confused about what was done. I was assured all servos were fine and no reset was done, but it totally works differently now. I'll keep an eye on everything to see if anything changes since I went back to "Normal" mode
Thanks to all that responded. I learned a lot
