I looked for a 450h F Sport when I was shopping (which I think they started making in 2015), they’re so rare. I wanted an F Sport so I went with a 350.

Yeah that was a unicorn. I got a base 450h and did a lot too it including changing the bumper to f-sport.

It’s only rare because gas has been so cheap in the US.

Japan didn’t have that luxury so the gs450h outsold the gs350 nearly 2:1 even with the 3rd generation GS.

Used examples are exported to pretty much all right hand drive countries who don’t place excessive tariffs Japanese imports.

Try not to worry about MPG, it’s not what these cars are about. As long as you’re not consistently getting something crazy (like below 15 MPG), just drive.

Also, track MPG by using the trip on the odometer % by gallons you filled with. The computer MPG isn’t always right.
Thanks appreciate the input, bought the car thinking I would get the 19-21 MPG city as estimated. Was worried that there might be something mechanically wrong I suppose it is what it is.

As a long term Lexus owner I can tell you these maintenance tips really help.
1) make sure your air filter is very clean.
2) cleaning the MAP sensor definitely helps.
3) periodically scroll thru your MPG modes on the steering wheel so it can recalculate.
My 2013 GS always gets an average MPG of 23, on the interstate gets 27

Oh yeah!

I consistently average 30+ mpg in stop-n-go city driving (sometimes as much as 34 mpg in stop-n-go city driving), 35 mpg highway driving and about 32 mpg combined.

Stop-n-Go City Driving = 34.1 mpg

Your air filter may be dirty but unless you are on the mat, it isn't hurting fuel economy, only performance. The engine has a feedback loop for air/fuel ratio and if the filter were clogged, it wouldn't get worse mileage but it would have worse performance. Tire pressure will have more to do with mileage than almost anything else you can change

If you live downtown in a city with millions of people there is absolutely nothing you can do to improve MPG .

When you hear others claiming high MPG , it not real city driving . They don't sit in traffic for an hour on a trip that normally takes a few minutes.

To be fair, that is gridlock, not city traffic. Everyone gets 0MPG at 0MPH.

I'm not gridlocked as I live in the burbs of Chicago. However, my trips consist of many short drives less than 15 minutes and maybe 5 miles round trip. I get about 13 to 15MPG local driving.

I suppose I live in an ideal city. I know that I do for many other reasons, and I never get under 24 MPG in beautiful sunny Tucson.

Default 2013 lexus gs 350 Rwd Base mpg

So I have owned my new 2013 lexus gs 350 Rwd Base for about 3 weeks now and this is what I have observed about my mpg. When I first drove the car back from the dealer 150 miles or so at 70-85 miles per hr with some ocational fun hear and there I averaged just under 26 mpg. When I drive the car on my typical comute of 18 miles of mostly freeway with heavy traffic on the last 7 miles I get around 21-24 mpg (depending on how bad traffic is). In suburb city driving where there is not that much stop and go I average around 21. Back roads sometimes having fun is also about 21 mpg. Back roads having way to much fun is 18-19 mpg. Lastly real city driving with lots of stop and go and traffic lights every 0.5 miles mpg sucks, maybe 14-17. Noticed idling also sips quite a bit of fule. (obviously on primium fuel).
