Maybe a stupid question: Is there a notable difference in ride quality with 19 inch wheels vs. the 18 inch wheels? I see some of the non-F-Sport models have 18 standard, but seeing a few with the 19 option.

Not a stupid question at all, but I can't answer it.
All of my GSs had the 19" wheels. The 18" wheels will give you an extra half inch of sidewall, so it may help some. I've always been very happy with the 19s on my cars.

There will be a difference in ride quality in two GS’s with 18s and 19s. And likely an even more noticeable difference between a GS with 18s and an F Sport with 19s.

FSport comes with 18" wheels? Do they even clear the brake calipers? I think tires can make a difference in ride quality too.

Still don’t know how non-AVS GS’s drive compared to ones with AVS but I’m sure this has been covered

As planted as my non-AVS suspension feels, its always the same - it never feels like it gets sharper. The F-sport feels so into the road, almost too dialed in for my tastes. My non AVS is always the same: not as dialed in, but dialed in just right for me.
My impression was the AVS made the GS feel un-Lexus like in non-aggressive driving scenarios. Combined with the 19" wheels, the AVS made me "think" like the car was uncomfortable, sacrificing comfort for sportiness gains that driving around in NYC I would never get to enjoy.
I think Lexus was really trying hard to satisfy the enthusiast crowd but keep true to its bread and butter comfort at the same time with the 4GS. I certainly appreciate the F-sport for what it is as the tech behind the adaptable suspension is amazing - it just wasn't the right GS for me

I hope we haven't strayed away from the OP's question about upgrading his premium, non AVS 2015 - but if he's considering both a refreshed F-Sport vs refreshed Premium, i think it still requires a very personal test drive no matter how much us internet forum guys post up!

I always tell everyone to just test drive them all and really spend time with each one to see the good and bad, then see which one u like best. A car that fits another person might not fit u. Forget the spec sheet and internet test drives, they won't do much good.
The best car to buy is the one that really speaks to u and ur wallet when ur behind the wheel.

The Luxury with AVS has less control for more float - meaning lower frequency of vertical oscillations which is a floatier and more comfortable ride.
However, my opinions are based on the RWD models only.
Entirely a personal decision.
The 2020 is better with a fresher look, slightly smoother and quieter idle, slightly smoother quieter engine, better ride albeit at the cost of handling, and more features - at $21k.
Like ItzFilyO says, drive the two and whatever you fancy.
It's only 21k - you can't take it with you to your grave, and some would argue that spending 21k motivates you to work harder to get that 21k back.

There should have been another GS460 in the 4th Gen.
