Front Brake Squeal/Squeak - New Design Front Shim Kit
#16
I had some squeaking on cold brakes on awd Fs with old worn out pads, then I changed to new pads with tsb number and left old everything old disks old shims and there was no more squeaking since.
Changed myself, $60 for the new oem pads, and few bucks for some grease.
just the pads was enough in my case.

Intermediate
May also consider the Akebono ACT1118 with integrated shims as a solution. I would guess that the integrated shim still has to be greased? Non F sport

Heard people complaining aftermarket akebonos squick in this car
, don’t know about this particular akebono that you mentioned, in the rear oem lexus says akebono on it in my case. But for the fronts its all good with the tsb oems.

Has anyone successfully eliminated the brake noise using the new shim kit?
I replaced my brake in Spring of 2022. I used all Lexus parts included the shim, but not the new shim. I don't know why they still give me the old shim, when new ones are already out. Now I can't stand the noise and it is only happened intermittently.
