Turning the front ventilated seats into Cooled Seats using the under seat hvac duct.

Someone 3D printed this for the RC/IS:

Then there is this guy that 3D printed one for the GS and plans to sell them on etsy, GStars facebook group.

I think it needs to be manually adjustable so you can adjust it based on your seat position or this might not matter as long as the air is directed up.

Looking at this pic , our floor vents are long and wide.

Even without a custom duct , directing air up shouldn't be hard.

It's nice that the long vent is split into two sections so the rear will still get HVAC while half the air gets directed to the ventilated seat.

Agreed bro.

Thanks for posting this thread.

I had no idea how simple the system worked before this.

Several years back here on CL, I think in the RX forums, people were basically doing this same thing but with cardboard. Pretty simple to make an air deflector out of cardboard, it's just tacky. This is much more eloquent.

Saw this vent on the RC forum a while ago. Someone who use to have a GS here who now has a very modded RC F did it.

The other thing to think about is that you would have to run your Climate on both Dash vents and floor air to work. Making the dash vent air reduced by 50% I think, for it to work if.

Agree about reduced air flow by needing to use both dash and floor vents with this mod.

Additionally however, with the duct vent under the seat split into two sections - if one section is used for the seat cooling and restricts the duct's airflow in any way that will increase the static pressure and further reduce the vehicle's HVAC's blower effectiveness to push air, which will surely reduce airflow at all supply vents even further.

The seat ventilation fan has a difficult assignment to begin with, pushing air through the seat cover's very restrictive perforation holes. I suspect the fan underneath the seat is already laboring near its static pressure limits and unable to let any more air in. Once
the maximum static pressure has been reached, air flow volume drops to zero. A complaint that many owners have with the ventilated seats. I'm not sure the mod will accomplish what many think it will...
