Japan needs to stop sending us trash and start sending the good stuff!
To me the whole Lexus brand died with the GS. The GS has always been my dream car whenever I can move up from a Camry to Lexus and glad I got one before they killed it.
The RC/F line has potential but they're letting it rot too. ISF won't come anytime soon and IS500 is overpriced with dealer markups. LS line is rotting and overpriced with markups too.

I remember the Cressida. My first car in high school, a hand me down from my parents. A silver 1985 with the updated 5m-ge over the previous year. A timeless design and held up pretty well into the early 2000s. It was neat because mine came with the super computer that can play happy bday. I miss it and it is the reason why I got the GS. It was a nice step up and IMO, the successor to the Cressida outside of Japan. Disregard what wiki said about the successor to the Cressida. The Cressida dropped in '93 for the GS in '93 and that is what I believe happened.
They all have the straight 6, from the mx32 all the way up to the mx83 and even further, the JZX110 (Toyota Mark II, which is the Cressida.)

I believe the Avalon was only the price replacement for the Cressida.
The GS was the specification replacement for the Cressida with similar specs like in-line six, RWD and multi-link suspension.

My Grandmother had one of these. It was nice. Everyone really admired it.

Back on track.... my point was about the GS. I think will be just like these other well loved, popular selling, beloved now gone never came back Toyotas. The GS will never come back, not even as a GS, G, GV, GZ etc, etc.

I'm starting to see the Toyota Crown more and more.

Nissan has the 2023 Skyline Nismo. Lexus should shove the V35A-FTS into the 4th Gen GS body and send it off in a glorius way.
