It's been a while since I've been here. I recently picked up a '14 GS350 RWD with 80k. I've made a couple of changes (HPFP insulator, sunroof seal on order), but have a question about the idle. I read the 'must reads' and have searched around a bit, but nothing seems right. There's a slight vibration (more audible than physical) at idle in drive while stopped. Not enough to shake excessively, but seems like more than there should be. I can feel it in the pedals and wheel, but not dash. Internet points to motor mounts, though with only 80k, that seems unlikely. I changed the air filter, it has fresh oil, and I plan to clean the TB. Any tips there?

Curbed wheels are getting fixed, and I plan on Michelin PAS4s in the near future.

I am literally in the exact same boat, just picked up a new to me whip, same car , same color , except AWD.

Zero vibration issues. Zero idle issues.

There was slight hesitation between gears, but an engine cleaning and an ATF WS drain and fill fixed the problem. Car drives perfect now.

Have you had a professional diagnose it yet. You're right it sounds like a cracked motor mount.

Edit : Does the insulator for the fuel pump actually make a noticable difference ?

Interesting, and nice choice. I was looking at this one and a '15 red F-Sport with 60k for $8k more (didn't drive it to compare idle). Didn't seem worth it... used cars cost enough as it is these days. Red looks nice on these things though.

No, I haven't taken it anywhere for diagnosis. I also drove an IS350 with a similar idle, so I figured it might be 'normal' for the 3.5. Whatever the case, it's a far cry form my old IS300 (2JZ) that I couldn't even tell was running. This is a slightly more charismatic engine though.

Yeah, the insulator seemed to make a difference. The 'tic tic tic' is much less pronounced inside and out. I imagine that all varies depending on the individual car, but $40 and 5 minutes seemed worth it. I can get a video if you want, but I think there are a few floating around on here.

Same here, I believe it's an engine or transmission mount. Another possibility is a heat shield around the exhaust is rattling.
