Default 2016+ F-sport or Base

Debating between F or Base, if you had to choose which one would you go with and why? This will be many used to hauling kids and grocery getter. Also how's the ML on these GS's?

I say drive both and see which you would enjoy driving more. Cabin noise. Ride quality (rim sizes) , options , and lastly cosmetics.
The non f sport is a great car as is and is very comfortable .
I jumped from a non f sport to a Gs F because quite frankly I got bored of the former. Great all around car but the character of the GS F suited me more.
An f sport would’ve been the middle ground.

Nice! I know what you mean lol. Currently driving a G80 M3, but kids are trashing the rear. So will be ordering a new M2, and get a Lexus as a daily.

I think youd enjoy the fsport then, coming from what you have. Its still a daily, the kids can kick the rear of the front seats and destroy it and itll be fine haha. It wont bore you like the non f sport. Nice bmw choices

F-Sport, for the significant additional adjustability in the driver's seat, specifically the seat bottom extension, and the Adaptive Variable Suspension, which is a huge improvement over the floaty base shocks.

My first experience of a 2016+ GS was GS-F on track, which was great fun but not realistic for a daily driver for me. My second was a GS350 Base loaner. Between the two, I was able to identify the things I liked and the things I didn't, and the F-Sport met my needs (almost) perfectly.

For 2016+, I think generally it will be harder to find a base GS compared to an F-Sport. IMHO: The 2016+ refreshed GS looks best in F-Sport trim with triple beam headlamps (triple beams are also harder to find but more available in newer model years).

Echoing @byungkuk, you can always try to get into a rare Luxury package equipped GS like this one: https://www.carvana.com/vehicle/lt/2283086

Here's an a nice F-sport equipped GS considering its asking price/mileage/carfax history: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/b...-5fb5dc05ac4d/

I'm a sucker for anything with a Sport badge on it so I had to get the FSport one. It does look nicer though.

Triple beam is nice, but I can't find a single one in my area within my budget.

If you can find a Luxury model then you get uber nice seats and the F-Sport package. I was able to find mine priced like a base model because it’s not technically F-Sport. You have to look at the seats to ID one, and the mode dial should have S+ to ID the F-sport AVS. Good luck!

My Lux with F Sport Staggered wheels and 2016+ Tails. I have since changed to RC F Wheels recently.

BTW: the 16+ wheels with Pirelli P7's 245/40/19 all around are now up For Sale for anybody!

I test drive the base one when I started shopping for a gs and I was extremely unimpressed by the ride. I gave up on the car and was gonna shop for something else. Then few weeks later decided to give 2014 f-sport a try and it was emotionally night and day difference for me. The tighter feel in sport+ plus f sport exhaust makes it a different car if you’re into that. Then I purchased a 2016 f sport after that.
But also the sport theme inside is looking great and the exhaust sounds beautiful f1 like, that was my first impression and still feel like it a year later.
