I’m looking to upgrade my headlights. It’s hard to see at night and I would like to get some more modern bulbs. I went to retro fit source and they have some options, I’m just not sure if buying the bulb is enough or will I need a new ballast or other parts. Any recommendations?

If you change the HID bulb you use the same ballast. But if your headlight is aimed too low you’ll have the same range as before, that’s why I recommend adjusting it first.

Yea, properly adjusting them made a big difference. GS headlights seemed to be aimed a bit too low compared to other cars. My RC and ES were fine off the factory but my 2014 and 2019 GS were aimed too low.

Re-aim headlights, new bulbs, buff headlight lens. Maybe clean the inside of your windshield too.

So it is not me that thinks the range on the headlights is not far enough? Now with the clocks back an hour, I may have to drive in the dark. And the answer is to just aim them up a little higher? Any suggestions on how high I should aim them for better coverage without blinding oncoming traffic? Or just shine them on the garage door, and adjust them up a couple of inches? Thanks.

Do 3 full 360 degrees turn clockwise on all the adjustment screws. 3 should be good.
Clockwise = Up
Counter = Down

Ok BC, you got me
. But to my defense, you posted about this in 2014, and I didn’t get my car until 2019, so it is not like I have been bothered by this for 9 years. Only 3 plus. Thanks though. At this point, probably every complaint or issue has been discussed. But for old people, we are senile with short memories![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Tweaking the headlights up a couple inches at a distance of 12 feet will make a big difference but still won't be remotely comparable to LED headlights. I never was happy with the headlight lumen output of my 2013 GS 350.

Hello.
Did you end up getting new headlight buibs for your 2014 GS 350? I have the same car and the visibility at night is poor. Any guidance you could provide on what you bought and how it worked out would be very much appreciated.
I have seen some upgrade kits to take the HID bulbs that are standard and replace them with LED. Anyone done that by chance?
Thank you all.

Yes I got new bulbs from retrofitsource they’re great. I can see very well at night now. I believe the brand was Morimoto. I had also purchased new lights from eBay all new led ones and they sucked had to exchange them twice in the end returned them.

Just discussed a few weeks ago.

Also adjust the bean up, They are too low from the factory no matter what bulbs you use. Big difference with new bulbs and adjustment.

The stock ones adjusted just fine but the after market wouldn’t adjust that was the issue with those. First it was the left light that wouldn’t go up or down at all and then on the 2nd set the right light wouldn’t. The quality also was that good. Inside the lens I could see thumb prints on the black paint like they checked it to see if the paint was dry and it wasn’t and also had some scratches on the inside of the lense.
