Default Can’t make my mind up on Gs 350 (2013) Vs. Gs 350 (2016 Fsport) + Rc 350 (2015 Fsport

I’ve been wanting a new car here lately with some different options. I love my 2013 Gs, but I kind of want something with ML. I love the styling of the Rc and 2016+ Gs f sport ands could die for a digital tachometer. I test drove a 2015 rc and enjoyed it but I feel like I’ll miss the small luxuries of my GS, such as the 12.3” screen, auto rain sensing wipers, etc. Anyone ever own both and switched or have any information I can learn from lol.

I went from a 2014 GS to a 2017 RC, got hit and I replaced it with a 2018 RC and got bored and went back to a 2019 GS. All 350 FSport trims and I did not miss the RC at all.

GS feels more luxurious and has larger trunk space. It also has more stuff like all speed cruise control, rear sunshade, auto folding mirrors, auto heat/ventilated seats, more seat adjustments for both driver and passenger, auto parking brake (which they added to the new RC I think, but my 2018 didn't have that), and the GS feels a bit quicker on its feet for some reason.

I looked at a 2022 RC a few weeks ago and wasn't impressed at all, they took away the rear spoiler and it's definitely not replacing my GS and if I were to go back to RC, it would be the V8 RC F. Or just get the new IS instead, I think it's better in every way than the RC right now, at least until they refresh it again.

The RC looks nice and has better nav system but that's about it and the honeymoon period will be over a lot quicker than the GS. The GS looks nice too, especially with the triple-beam headlights.

Yeah, I noticed that my GS felt quicker than the RC. The only thing I can say the RC had over the GS is the appearance, and maybe handling. I understood that the RC would have better handling, as I don't have a GS F-Sport. I just really enjoyed the appearance but not having the big screen, rear sunshade, just kind of made me feeh "eh" about the car. I definitely want to look for a 2016+ GS Fsport, just hard to find them decently priced.

The seat in the GS F-Sport/Luxury is leaps and bounds nicer better the RC. If I were ever in a position to buy a GS-F, I would 100% drop in seats from a Luxury Package car. The extending seat bottom....I can't go back. I'm a big guy and having the extra leg support is fantastic. I can drive this car for hours, tighten up the back bolsters to run through some tight mountain roads, and then let them out to drive a few more hours no problem.

Later RCs have a larger screen that fills the whole cubby, if that is something that concerns you. 2015 was the launch year; content was added over time.

Yeah, I analyzed some of the mods that can be done to replace that for me and it wouild cost $799.00. That's whatever, but yeah the thigh extender is so nice in my car. I'm 6'3 and couldn't live without my seats. I will say, the RC had some nice seats and were very sporty and comfortable!

Yeah, they're nice for a sport coupe and can eat miles easily on long drives. Just lack of refinements and a bit on the heavy side. I feel like Toyota wasn't giving their best when they build that car, unlike the GS where they were serious about it.

When u get in an RC, u go yeah, this is nice but when u get in the GS, u say.. this is it brah!!

GS350 16+ F sport
this is the best of both worlds. Luxury. Comfort. And sportiness. The RC can’t do those three together without sacrificing one

I easily do 6+ hour road trips with zero fatigue in my GS.

Insanely comfortable.

You didn't have issues with head room in the RC? I'm 6ft and after a while my neck started to get sore from having to sit with my head slightly tilted.

The RC was fun the first few days, but after a week. I wanted my GS back. The first day I was playing with the RC, I noticed the GS is more responsive and the handling is predictable. I was expecting the driving experience to be the same in both cars, but the RC felt unbalanced compared to the GS.

The RC is a great looking car, especially the F sport with triple beams, but it was not the car for me.

If I recall correctly, the RC was built using the 4GS front subframe, 2IS-C unibody, and 3IS rear subframe.

I drove the RC-F and the GS-F back to back at NJMP. I much preferred the handling of the GS-F.

Yeah, mix and match platforms doesn't really work. I hope the RC will get its own chassis for next gen. I feel the GS is more quiet too, probably has better sound deadening materials.

Idk what your budget is since a 2015 RC is typically a lot cheaper than a 2016 GS at least near me but if you can afford to get a 2019+ RC350 F sport then get it all day. Otherwise the 2016 GS is the superior car out of the 3 you mentioned if you don’t mind it’s design

I would still pick my 2019 GS over a 2022 RC any day. The RC line still doesn't even have the all speed cruise control like GS does.
