Default Possible to upgrade to f sport

Hi family,
I am in the market for a 2014/2015 f sport 2WD. As you know, there are just not a lot of these cars. I was wondering to what extent can one slowly upgrade a base model to include some of the f sport options over time?

Thanks

If ur set on an FSport, I wouldn't waste money by upgrading a base model. Just save it and do it right by getting the real FSport the first time cause it will never be the same.

There is no limit given your budget is there. Why don't you decide what aspects of the Fsport options you like?

Larger front rotors? Nah, they're just expensive.
Larger wheels? Sure, if you like more expensive tyres. I'd grab a set of 19s off someone who upgraded. Breaking your upper control arms and fitting 22s is all the rage here.

Staggered wheels? Nah. Grip is nice but I'd swap mine for a square set so my tyres last longer than a year.

Fsport logo on steering wheel? Easily swapped from a wrecked car (keep your airbag)

Asthetics like the body kit? The Fsport looks awesome, there are both wrecked options if you find your colour or a myriad of aftermarket options. You can even upgrade to the facelift look. Modinjapan have nice kits but you wouldn't walk in with less than 5K https://www.modinjapan.com/lexus/gs-...rior-3304.html

Logo on side of car? $30 each?

Duck spoiler on boot? Available ~$700 for OEM, no doubt aftermarket options are available.

Heads up display? 100% yes. There are even guides on here showing how it's done. If I moved to a market where the HUD wasn't standard and bought a GS, this is the no 1 mod I'd spend money on.

AVS suspension? Nah. The shocks are $100 each but you may be missing the correct ****, a myriad of ECUs and the physical connectors themselves. Better off with an aftermarket system.

Rear wheel steering? Nah, it's a great feature which I enjoy but I wouldn't add it if it cost more than $500. Which it would. It feels kinda weird at low speed, it's kinda scary how well it goes around bends.

Adaptive cruise? I wouldn't buy a GS without it (esp given the base model Camry has had it for years, how embarrassing)
As far as retrofitting it....Peasodos levels of genius required there. If you had access to a crashed car with DRCC, you'd need the appropriate ECUs, the radar and the correct steering wheel with the extra button. I'm interested in this because I'd love to upgrade my high speed DRCC to full speed, like the 450H has.

Seats? Yes, if they're available. The Fsport has a 16 way driver seat with 3 memory positions and the passenger has the base model seat...but with the Fsport leather (protected) and has the heaters and ventilation holes in each seat. I wouldn't upgrade to ventilated seats unless you could get everything you needed in one transaction. (Seats, switches, ecus etc)
Just buy the semi aniline seats from a luxury model, they're nicer and both 18 way.

Rear shade? Eh. Folding mirrors? Eh. Nice as a visible indicator to know whether the car is locked.

Fsport gives you different interior colour options. Seats, headliner, aluminium inserts instead of timber etc.

If you don't have the 12" radio screen, that's worth upgrading to. There's OEM and aftermarket bits for that IIRC.

The Fsport growling air dam thingo? I would add that, it makes the intake roar when you get upwards of 4000rpm.

What else could an Fsport potentially come with. Blind spot? 100% yes. Auto high beam? Nah.
Headlights that swivel left to right? Cool but wouldn't pay what it would cost.
Headlight washers? Nah.

I'm not sure whether you're aware of how frighteningly expensive Lexus genuine parts are. To add a single one of these features using new parts would cost thousands. (Bar the stickers).

Just start with an F-Sport unless handling is not important to you. It will be cost prohibitive to add the AVS suspension, variable gear ratio steering, and rear axle steering.

Certainly a possibility. Ton's have folks have done F-Sport conversions to different degrees. The easiest and most popular F-Sport "conversion" upgrades are mostly exterior:

F-Sport Bumper & F Sport Upper/Lower Grilles
F-Sport Wheels
F-Sport rear spoiler
F-Sport Exterior Badges
F-Sport rear valence

There are aftermarket options for all items mentioned above if you search hard enough if you're looking to save some coin. To me, the easiest things to do to a base model to get the exterior "look" are 19" F-Sport wheels, F-sport rear spoiler, and adding F-sport grille inserts.

You should pity us poor guys in the rust belt that can't drive their GS in the winter.

Why I like the GS.... you can Lego swap mix the Base/Lux/F Sport/GS F parts, in addition to the 13-15 Pre with 16-20 Post parts.
