Did it on my previous cars also.
it makes the speakers sound better.
doubles the amount of base of front door speakers.
adds some noise insulation.
It make a nicer sound when closing doors This is the amount of sound deadening on doors from factory. Take a look they didn’t even stick it on all the way. Its only one one corner.
On the back door was the worst. I thought its missing. It fell off and was in the bottom.
The thing was down in the corner
Anyway installed this sound deadening on all doors for like 1/3 of the total surface. results were great. It did it before on economy cars camry , mazda 3 , highlander. But on the gs it made the same difference. It was a worth it.
A friend of mine who specialized in installing high end aftermarket audio systems used dynamat that provided all the benefits you described. Cheap way for a big improvement in refinement. He covered all surfaces.
I did that on my Lincoln Mark Viii.
But I covered ALL of it. Outer skin 3 layers plus a layer of foam and inner skin 1 layer.
Now that I can tell you closes like a bank vault.
What companies provide auto sound proofing? I'm not sure as to what kind of companies to get "from. Body shops?
In my part of the woods, the shop does stereo mid-high end design and install, sound deadening, tints, PPF, coatings etc......short of body panels and a paint booth hahahaha.
