Talking I think my speedometer is broken

Basically every time my engine started singing and I just started to get excited, when I look down it says 99. Just a little downshift and some gas, 99 again. Going around a bend a bit faster and as soon as I started smiling, u guessed it, 115.

Are u guys experiencing the same? Are we always speeding in this car? It really doesn't feel like it though, felt like I'm barely going 65. I know the spec sheet of this car is weak but my speedometer says otherwise, especially around a corner.

@ItzFilyO - Man, please be careful. It's one thing to go triple digits driving straight but going that fast around a bend or curve on a public road or highway is asking for bigtime trouble. It's just not worth it...

Maybe you didn't hear about the man that went around a curve too fast not far from you in his Ferrari and crashed, splitting the car in half and ejecting him onto the highway.

I've got many many hours of driving on the Autobahn in the north of Germany. It's great fun going fast.

Then I hit a pothole at 125 in going to Dusseldorf from Trier and thought I was going to die.

Make sure you really know the road before messing around man, it can really bite you in the rear real quick. Not to mention what the 5-0 would do if they caught ya

Oh yeah, this is my daily commute road that I know very well and I only do this when nobody's around and never on a blind corner or bend. I know my limits too.

I don't weave in and out of traffic doing 100s like those youtubers. More like a sec or two and back off.

Point is, it's so quick for this car to get to triple digit speeds with only a V6 and no turbos. How much more the V8 F, probably useless on public roads.

I'm not saying its not fun. There's a stretch I've gotten to 120 to several times already in the GS. My galaxie had a good 10mi of 120 on it. The porsches, 140 many times.

One bad move though, and you're totally screwed one way or another.

I think you're in the Inland Empire right? I lived in Temecula a long time ago and I drove a terribly slow Saturn at the time (surprisingly durable car though, 190K miles with very few problems).

The 15 is a very inviting speedway when it's wide open though. If I had this car back then I would have had a hard time not speeding constantly too. Even living on this little rock I've opened her up a couple times well over 100. The GS is very comfy at high speeds, it would be nice on the Autobahn LOL.

The others are right though, one false move at excessive speed and it's not gonna be pretty.

I agree. I only tend to drive fast on the open freeways. A lot of things can go wrong at that speed which spooked me when I had my Vette to 146.

2014 On a 2014 Kawasaki ZX10. Wont even say. Exactly why I wont buy a Bike again after riding and owning bikes from 10 years old. Don't know if I'm just scared now, or wiser.

ItzFilyO, Now I'm going to say take bc's advise and retire that. Of course this post is making me a hypocrite, but there comes a point that you have been there and done that.

I'm headin up to Orlando for the day tomorrow... about a 170-mile trip one way... I expect my speedo to fail at least a half-dozen times before I return home. But no more than a few seconds at a time...
