Remote Start Time-Out
Has anyone found a way to hijack the timer on the remote start? That 10 minutes is not nearly enough for these Midwest sub-zero temperatures! And I hate the fact that it turns the car off when you open the door. This vehicle needs an entire bag of tricks to have it to work in an enjoyable fashion.

The system will let you start it twice with the 10 minute duration for each.
I have not tried it but thought I read that you could give the remote a second
cadence of the buttons while it is within the first cycle and that would add the
additional 10 minutes. While the maximum number of starts is published as
two (2) you can RS more than that if each cycle is shorter than 10 minutes each.
Apparently the remote start with either the fob or phone app only initializes the
engine start and HVAC systems. Once your enter and press the brake/push the
button it then initializes those and the Nav, Bluetooth, Air Bags, memory seats etc.
Many threads here and Toyota sites, no hack to extend the factory system from shutting
off upon entry. Some aftermarket setups can be configured to run longer. If you are only
using the free for 10 years from Date of First Use fob and not subscribing to the Lexus
phone app you might consider paying once for an aftermarket fob. It would also have
much greater range than the '80 of the OEM fob.
