Check Park Sonar System Message
I left my 2014 GS 350 at the airport for a business trip for four days. Sensors were working and active when I parked it. When I returned the sensors did NOT work and sends the warning message shown in the attached picture. I see no indication of bumper damage and I have not had any issues with the sensors previously. The dealers want a minimum of $250 just to check it. I'm hoping there is a way to RESET the system without paying the dealer. Any suggestions?

To check it, the dealer's tech will likely remove the front and rear bumpers and inspect...hence the hefty labor charge (although many members will tell you that the bumpers are a cinch to remove/install yourself). You can try cleaning the sensors (soap and water) and seeing if that helps. As peasodos mentioned, most likely one or more of the sensors is loose or damaged.

The Lexus dealer said most likely that someone ran into my car while parked which triggered the sensor. But as I said, I see ZERO damage. Was just hoping there was some way to RESET without having all the technical tools or paying the dealer to do it. While researching I've seen individual ones have issues or scratches but when buffed out it will operate.

For what it's worth, I've had random Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system malfunctions (CHECK BSM system) on my 2017 GS350. It appears they are battery related. First time around we changed the car battery due to low voltage (4.5 years old) These systems seem to be extremely voltage sensitive. Especially since the car was parked for a few days prior to the error. It won't cost you a thing but I'd consider disconnecrting the battery and clearing the computer.

I had this happen last year. It went off randomly and sometimes would be triggered when I was stopping although nothing was in front of me. Shutting off the system sometimes would clear it and sometimes not. When not, it would usually reset after the car was shut down and restarted. It would happen once every couple of weeks. Then it started getting worse. I took it back to Lexus and they found a bad sensor. It was replaced under the CPO warranty fortunately. Any other time I've seen that message it was usually dirty with dead bugs or snow/slush build-up causing it. FYI, there is also a message which looks very similar, but says to clean the sensors.
