iOttie Car Phone Mount and Leather
I was hoping people who have used the iOttie car phone mounts can chime in. I'd like to mount it in an area with leather padding I guess I should say. Same material as what's on the dashboard. I've contacted iOttie and they say that this will not damage the leather, and to use the dashboard gel pad.
I'm leary as it seems to me that over time the suction of the mount would stretch the leather? And possibly other damage I'm not thinking about.
Anyone with any experience with these things? Ive personally never used a mount. But liked the idea of the wireless charging.

ok well I guess no one owns an iOttie... if you have a Galaxy S6, I highly recommend it. Wireless charging. So no more messing with the charging cable. A little pricey but well worth it to me. I decided not to mount it where there was any leather. But doesn't seem to damage the hard plastic And hasn't fallen off yet.
I ran the power cable to the dock under the center console. Plugged it in to the 12v on the back of the console. So you see very little of the cable.
Oh and doesn't get in the way of the glovebox or the cupholder lid opening. but have to place it just right.

I have always used ProClip mounts and holders on my old TL. I preferred a more secure fit that also would not damage the car. Plus I love the holders with the integrated charger or pass through lightning cable. This allows you to just put your phone into with one hand and it is charging. When I got my GS I was disappointed that ProClip only offered an over the vent mount for the GS. I live in the south and the idea of covering up a vent is crazy to me. I preferred having it mounted on the right side of the center console. So I found the Kuda mount. This one works really well. I was able to keep my ProClip holder and just mount it to the Kuda. It is very secure and goes in with out any real damage to the car. It holds on tight just by itself but there is one screw that goes in between where the leather meets the carpet. It is covered in black leather and blends perfectly. I have had several people comment about it thinking it was built into the car.
I originally had the usb run into the center console through the opening it always has but it was rubbing on the cable when you close the center console. Never thought of running it to the back one till I read Lakersfan's post. So moved it to try that out for a while.

What the hell is that?! I want that! Never heard of iottie before. How do u mount it on the GS dash, with a suction cup?
I want that wireless charging! Avalon comes with it but we don't get it in the 2x the price GS.

The Avalon and Camry have it built in too. They should've put one in a $60K GS too.
