Default Cheap and easy front grill badge mod...

Been wanting to tone down the chrome on the front grill but never wanted to splurge and spend the big money on the ebay set and do all the work to swap the emblem out so today I went to a local tint shop today and slapped on some tint (35%) right over the stock badge and loved the toned down look. Pulled it off and jumped online and ordered two small 8x8 sheets of lamin-x in Gunsmoke and smoke I think it was called. Made a size template and tested it out and it fits well with no edge hangover. When the lamin-x gets here I will cut and apply and update this thread with pics. Once all is ok I will share the oval as a pdf to those that want it so they can print it out and use it to cut.

________

Only pic I took was of the green template taped in place...sorry I missed the 35% tint photo from earlier...

Lamin-X will be here next week so pics will be posted as soon as they arrive.

The grill is blacked out using gloss black vinyl. Same is applied to my window chrome...

Did you painted the chrome part of the front grill or vinyl wrapped.
Looks sick! I also had the same idea of tinting the front logo.

Gloss black vinyl. Not the best job. It's all getting redone next week.

Try this:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxj...JPNTlKTkk/view

Print it WITHOUT resizing it on 8.5x11 copy paper. Cut out out an spray the back of the paper with water and test fit it to the logo to ensure all looks proper for you.

Gunsmoke Lamin-x installed. I decided since the outer lip of the logo inset will be a great guide for a sharp razor I didn't use a template and applied it then cut and tucked it with a credit card. Will snap some better pics when it is clean and the lamin-x fully dries.
