@eddie420 @richard203 @R6Tuan

Thanks for all the help guys, I finally figured out the wiring for the power trunk and it was actually easy. Big Thanks to @R6Tuan for pointing me in the right direction. Don't mind the dirty trunk, will have to clean it up now.

Here is the wiring diagram for my 2013 Lexus GS Power trunk.
I used the 2013 power trunk harness:
82181-30320

If you use another part number/year the pinouts/wiring will be different.

For the modifications, all I did was make the connections in the red arrows below from aT1 to UT1. Just cut and wired the connections, super easy.
I guess because 2013 car didn't have the power trunk as an option in the USA these connections don't already exist and that maybe for the years that had power trunk, it's plug and play.

@peasodos That is awesome dude. Glad you got it working! I'm sure there are others who want to perform this retrofit just like the HUD. I am guessing you will will be doing a write-up for the masses who will read this thread in the future?

Kind of too late for a writeup with pics. But if anyone needs help with wiring if it doesn't work plug and play I can help.

Basically,
1) remove all the trunk trim
2) install power trunk motor on left(drivers side) of the trunk
3) Replace the trunk latch mechanism
4) Replace trunk lid wiring harness
5) Install power close switch

6) If you have 2013 GS run wires from the terminals in my last post if using harness 82181-30320(buy harness from megazip.net)
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post10543457

7) Create custom power trunk hinge mount as I did in my earlier post and bolt it to the motor arm,

All the connectors connected except the trunk opener assembly connector. I got it from Japan and it has a is different connector than the one I have in my USA harness. Both connectors have 26 pins.

The wires look to be of a higher gauge on the American harness. I'll need to figure out what wiring is for what and re-crimp them properly. Pain in the butt but hopefully worth it. Patience is a virtue I guess.

EDIT #1 :
TIS shows the Japanese connector (90980-12444) instead of the USA one... what? I have the wiring for this connector but not for the connector on my wiring harness. Need it to compare, ugh.

EDIT #2:
Looks like 90980-12444 is for cars produced after Oct. 2015 and has nothing to do with Japanese vs American. Oddly enough... there is no "Closer" for cars produced before 2015. I smell something fishy here. Didn't the GS have power trunk closer in 2014+ in Canada and USA?

EDIT #3:
Hmm... Although "and Closer" was not listed above, it was listed as a sub-component ( ) and goes back to the same connector above. So what the bleep is the connector on my harness?

EDIT #4:
Okay, I found the connector. I think the connector on my harness interfaces with the pre-existing wiring in my car. And the car should in theory have the connector that plugs into the opener assembly. That makes sense to me. I guess I'll find out next weekend when I go at this again.

So all this is plug and play if I get the trunk opener assembly US spec?

Mine didn't have the hinge that I could bolt the arm to so I just made a bracket that I bolted to the hole on the trunk hinge.

Its not in the exact same position as the factory one but it doesn't seem to affect the power closer operation.
I just bought all the stuff for this mod to happen. Do you have more pics of this bracket you made for the hinge?

Update: @itsRaymond found out his f-sport does not have the plug for the Power trunk lift motor.

Apparently the F-Sport is not pre-wired for this mod. He is selling most of the parts for a good price:

Okay. I appear to have the plug for the motor in my 2013lux, but it looks like the Japanese plug pictured above:

I also looked at the latch: should there be another spare connector there?
There is only a small one connected to the latch, which I assume is how the car knows whether it's closed.

@peasodos, can I do this with @itsRaymond's kit? I really want to do this...

This is the correct plug for the power trunk lift motor and there is only one type of plug, same in Japan and USA.

Yes, because @peasodos gave me the parts he used, and I bought them.
If his 2013 luxe works, then yours will work as well.

Wait so it was option for the Fsport but not prewired? Thats a bit ridiculous on lexus part. I have a 2015 F sport and it has the power trunk on it.

Yeah man, my 2014 FSport doesn't have it.... I don't know why I decided to check for the plug after I bought all the parts but motor.

It's a bummer. I was excited to have power trunk.

@jonathancl - I still have all my power trunk parts if you want to buy them. And as peasodos mentioned, there is no Japanese/American connector, I just did not have the proper understanding at the time.
