Default Brake Hold Retrofit

So I had my dash apart today and I got around to installing the brake hold switch I bought previously.

Unfortunately, it is not plug and play as I had hoped. The connector for the brake hold exists on the harness but pressing the button quickly or holding it in does nothing.

I will figure out how to get this working........................

Is "brake hold" different from the "park" button under the steering wheel? I thought that's standard on all GS?

Brake hold allows you to take your foot off the break, for example when you are at a stop light. The car holds the brake for you. The "park" button on the other hand is a parking break. Two different things.

If you just push the brake to the floor for a few seconds, you get 2 beeps and the car is held for 10 seconds. It's useful for hill starts so you don't roll back.

Eddie is referring to the Brake Hold feature that is available on some Lexus vehicles.

I really want this on my GS. We have it on our '17 Acura MDX Sport Hybrid. It's great for long traffic lights and stop and go traffic.

Eddie - Did you have your seat belt on (engaged) when you tried the Brake Hold feature?

I was in my drive way so... no. Does it need to be engaged?

Yes! Try it again with the seat belt on (engaged) and hopefully it will work.
