How are you able to determine the the production month from the VIN?

I know the exact production date for any Lexus/Toyota/Scion VIN. It's part of having a subscription to TIS.
My Supra was born on my brother's birthday in 1993 - May 28th.

I made the deal on Sunday, and picked up my GS F on Monday.....2016....Gray... black interior.. 16 miles on odometer when I test drove it....
Sticker was a little over 87k....
Got it for 70.5k, plus tax, and dealer is paying about $3000 of my remaining lease payments
So I guess you could almost say I paid 67.5k.... as I was obligated to pay that lease money...
At least, that's how I look at it .... LOL
I purchased it, with a good size down payment,
So my payments are about $620/month over 6 years...
The loan is at 2%, so I figure that's pretty cheap money, and I can
always add to the payment to pay off sooner....
I plan on keeping this car at least 6-7 years.....
Has anyone purchased the service contract ?
They are asking $1495 for 3 years 35k miles.....
although, with the servicing up to the 10,000 mile mark included already,
it is really only for 2 years and 25k miles..... so really about 5 service visits..
This is my first Lexus, is this worth it ?
I have no idea what Lexus service costs are....
I am in Florida if that matters....
Thanks
Shelly

New is a relative term. Yes, if you want a deal, they'll make an offer you can't refuse. However, looking at their current inventory and the VINs available, they have production dates ranging from November 2015 to March 2016. These cars are not exactly FOB. If I didn't already have one, I would look at one of these and expect to pay $65k - $68k. It would appear Zack at Nalley is moving these cars like no other dealership, so Nalley has picked up the unsold 2016 stock from other dealers with the expectation they will sell at Nalley. I truly wish them the best of luck. If I didn't love my IS F so much, I would buy one of them (the USB 2.0 with red interior would be my choice), but as I have posted here before, I really, really love my IS F. I'm just mad at it today because one of the cooling fan motors is dead at 139k miles and they're $300 a piece no matter how you slice it.

I would think you could probably get at least 18k under sticker, maybe more, depending on the car, and how long the dealer has had it.....
This is obviously on a 2016 model.....
I picked one up early last month, for over 17k off sticker, and the dealer paying $3000 to finish my previous lease....
So basically, over a 20k discount...
I know the 2017 model has the adjustable suspension, but you will never get the same deal on a 2017 model.....
Very happy with the car..... go for it..............
