The car has protective film applied on front hood and doors. Not sure if that will cause any issues with paint later on - but since it's applied by Lexus, it may be good quality.
congrats on the car.

That is the going price currently. Prices won't drop until new vehicle production levels are restored.

new one could be had for $70k before this inventory shortage.

I wouldn’t buy a car right now unless a great deal came along. My advice is to wait it out.

But if you have to/really want to buy, and you’re ok paying $64k I’d get a lower mileage example.

Thanks for the insight, I offered them 5k below asking, I feel it's a more realistic price since its been on their lot for a month. Lets see if they bite.

I dont think the rise in prices is just inventory of other new cars. It's also the fact that these have been discontinued. I also don't think anyone was picking up new ones recently for $70k, maybe $75-77k, so the $63,500 actually sounds right to me.

i was offered a new one for $72k a few months ago, I prob could’ve talked them down to $70k, but I agree with you. Prices of GSFs have been going up bc of rarity and stable demand.

I guess that’s still an inventory issue considering we’re in 2021.

I guess I’ll find out soon enough. I’ve sent my offer and they seem to be entertaining it.

I searched Autotrader for the fun of it tonight and noticed that inventory is really low on these now, especially for lower mileage examples. I think auto inventory is just low everywhere, which is driving up prices. You'll either have to pay a bit more or wait a few months for the market to level out.

Just picked up a 2016 L/Certified, ultra on red, 1 owner 28k miles. CPO did new tires and new brakes. Final agreed upon price $53.5. Older woman sold to dealership outright because couldn't fit grand kids in back seat. She clearly took a good bath on this one, Lexus Milwaukee sold same car a couple weeks ago for $57k. I am thrilled.

BTW, Infiniti Hoffman Estates has a 2016 white on red, 28k miles asking $66.5. I called and spoke to the pre owned manager, young guy, and he said yea man, this has $8k of custom exhaust work on it, I've already had 4 inquiries. This was two weeks ago, and car is still for sale. I know they paid about $55k at auction because I tracked down the previous owner on this site to find out. What a greedy idiot with no conception of how aftermarket mods affect vehicle value. I hope he loses money.
