Haha thanks Steve for the answer! Please send updated pics. In the spring I'll be in the market for a GSF (moving up from my 350 lol) and have been looking at classifieds daily trying to determine what exterior. Lol between liquid platinum or smokey granite mica (very hard to find pics of this color on a GSF)... might be sold on smokey mica granite now

Hi,
What's the name and model of this life support? Looks good and I might look into having one just in case. Thanks.

It’s a Noco Genius 5
Amazon Amazon

From what I read, it’s a great trickle charger and can restore a fully discharged battery to life(take that FWIW).
Just the weekend before that, the GSF needed a jump start. So after that, I said I’m not going to deal with a dead battery anymore.
Since I’m still on the performance summer tires, I don’t feel comfortable driving it this time of the year here so I can sit untouched for some period of time.

I'm in Texas and I've left the car untouched for 2.5 weeks in the garage and it still started. How long do you think the battery will last with the car just sitting there? We have the same MY and it is garaged when not in use so our battery health should be similar.

No. Not exactly. We are at a much constant colder climate here than in Texas. My garage is usually 50f and can get down to 40 in the winter time even though it’s fully insulated.
If your car is left alone for that kind of extended period of time, I recommend you getting a trickle charger for the battery. It’s $70 and it keeps the battery ready to go.
It was probably a good 3 weeks that I didn’t start the car. I also think that starting the car and let it idle doesn’t do enough for the battery to be fully charged. You really have to drive/rev up the engine to charge up the battery. It took me awhile to jump start it and the next day, I needed to jump start again. That was when I went to Autozone and had them price match with Amazon. It took about 12hrs for the Noco 5 to fully charge the battery.

Good point on the colder climate. At $70 it is useful to have for extended parking. I'll definitely consider it as it's already in my Amazon cart .. Would you worry about any risk of fire or something bad happening overnight in the garage without any supervision?

You mean like if it’ll catch on fire? yeah, I thought about it but if you’re going to live in fear…rather not have anything. Even your cell phone charger can catch on fire.
make sure you have a smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the garage. I’m not worried though.
