Default What % Tint goes best with USB

So getting my windows tinted soon.. in NY they passed legislation that your tints cannot let less than 35% light in or you fail your annual inspection. So many people are getting their tints removed, car inspected and reinstalled afterwards. I do not really like that idea, seems like it will be too costly.

I am considering doing 50% all around but concerned it might be a little too light for my taste. BUT during the night since USB darker almost like a black, it will make the tints look darker as well.

Wondering if anyone can post pics of their F with tints and what % you used.

Thanks Guys,

washington has a similar law but i went with 15%. Love it. never get pulled over, I know a lot of people that tint more than the laws allow without getting a ticket. one trick I have heard is to make sure you roll the window down before a cop comes up to the car (good idea anyway) to avoid him seeing how tinted is it.

My USBM2.0 is going in on Tuesday for a full ting, gloss black top, and full front Xpel clear wrap. I am planning on going with the 5% all the way around. I have had 20% in the past and liked it but always wanted it a little darker. I'm doing the 3M ceramic so they only have 5% and then jump to 20% or else I would choose a 10% or 15%. Once its all done I will be sure to post up some pictures to show how it comes out.

I would do 25% or 35% all round with 50% on the whole windshield.

We usually go with 20% all around, and 50% on the windshield. I wouldn't go darker than 20% for a daily driver personally.

It is definitely dark at 5%, but personally I felt, since I was already well below what was legal, may as well just do 5%. I also have crazy (ocular) migraines, so I can also tell you, having it as dark as it is, really helps. I only bring her out when its sunny and no salt left on the roads, otherwise she is tucked safely away in the garage. But definitely a very personal preference and 20% is definitely nice and dark.

You can get a prescription for window tint from your optometrist as well. I keep mine in my daily driver at all times, just to be safe. lol

I've never had a problem with tint (knock on wood), but it's a nice thing to have as a precaution. Plus, you may have a legitimate case for having one.

Exactly. I have thought about it many different times, however, every time I go to the optometrist I forget to ask. Currently, if I am driving through a town that I know I may have an issue, I roll the front windows down. But that is a pain, a prescription would be much nicer. lol
