Default 2016 GSF ( ROW vs US )

So I've compiled a few videos of my 2016.
Just wondering what other differences there are between our "GCC" spec cars, and mainly US versions?

This is a video of my trunk space before and after removing the spare tire.

So here's another video after removing the spare tire and replacing the horrible trunk liner with one from a GS350.
Also, included in this video is the rear seat armrest with the A/C and Sound control console.

Think you have that backwards, is the top 2017 and bottom 2016? Because the difference between the two is in the suspension and it looks like the top has the variable suspension and the bottom is fixed suspension.

I think he has the pictures backwards, the picture that he references with the 2017 doesn't have variable suspension.

OK! That explains it. He labeled it 2017, which confused me!

Well, the topic I wanted to discuss was US specification GSF's compared to ROW ( Rest Of World ) GSF's. Not really the model year differences..

1. We have concluded that US GSF's DO NOT have a spare wheel in the trunk. Ours do.
2. We have also concluded that colors are named differently for the US market as well.
3. Do US models have a rear center center console with climate and audio controls?
4. Do US models have remote engine start?
5. Any difference in factory ride height?

USA GSF models do not have a heated steering wheel, sun shades, rear armrest control thing, rear heated seats, automatic trunk close and open and no spare tire. Remote start is an option if you subscribe to Enform. Also there are more color combos outside the USA and better seat color designs. So my complaint is why are those items not available on the USA GSF? Every other country in the world has those options for the GSF. And the kick in the face is the USA GS350 has the option for auto trunk, sun shades and rear armrest control thingy. You would think at MSRP of about $84K...those items would be included. So stupid. So now I am retro fitting parts to have an auto open close trunk on my GSF.

Very valid question! There are a ton of features missing form the US GSF & like you said, some of things should have been standard on a $84k GSF!
I would be curious to know how our Canadian neighbours compare to us.

That's why your MSRP's are amongst the lowest on the planet. A GSF here retails for 100k after tax.

The MSRP is not the issue. The issue is Lexus offers those items on the lower model in the US on the GS350 and the GSF in Canada offers all those cool features the US doesn't I should have bought that Canadian spec for sale in the USA...lol.

Could a reason why features aren't offered in the US spec possibly due to weight?

Americans have a dumb obsession with 1/4 times and 0-60 speed and maybe Lexus recognized that. You often hear, "Its too underpowered." "Too heavy" etc etc.

I mean, you have reviewers like Jeremy Clarkson that liked the car and appreciates it for what it is and I imagine thats what Europeans are like. With American review sites, cars always are compared with one another with weight and drag times as an emphasis..

This is just a guess, but I'm guessing that its due to culture and not so much pricing etc.

Yeah that a good factor, the GSF/RCF both are a good 200-300lb over weight. Either cop off the weight OR up the power by 75-100hp
