Default Can I program my old RCF Key to my New GSF? Credit Card key

Hey everyone.

I recently just got out of my 2016 RCF and into a 2018 GSF. I am wondering if I can have the dealer re-program the Credit Card Key to the GSF. It was coded to the RCF in the past, and I have already replaced the blade key. I would like to have the CC key, but not really looking to spend the $$$ on another CC key.

Let me know if anyone has any success or has done this!

Thanks

The dealership should be able to do this. My understanding is the Immobilizer will have to be completely reset and all keys reprogrammed.

No, this isn't how it's done, but also, the RC F key will not work. The GS F uses a different key for the credit card key that has only recently become available. The IS F community has played these games with Lexus having a different credit card key/key fob every two years or so. I just received the CC key for a 2016 GS F today and will be programming it soon. There is NO need to delete all the keys and start over if you have the right key. It is a simple add key process using Techstream.

Do you have a part number for the 2016 GSF key card if so can you post it.

That scares me, but it makes perfect sense in the millennial world where the car is a commodity, not something unique.

When I picked up my 2016 GSF a month ago, the dealer only had one key for the thing. Would this be the cheapest and easiest way to get a secondary key? Does the dealership charge to program the key? They quoted me $340 + tax for a new key a week ago.

No, the regular key is a whole lot cheaper than the credit card key.

Hey Tommy,

Did they charge you to program the key?
If so would you mind sharing how much so we know the dealerships arnt trying to over charge us?

Thanks!
