Hello everyone. My Mercedes E350 lease is expiring in August 19. I was thinking about GS 350 F before I came across GS F on cargurus.com. I would appreciate if you answer a few questions:

1. Does the car come with RF high performance summer tires? Is there a spare tire?
2. Am I right that 2017 and later GS F's have adaptive dampers?
3. Is the car "Lexus" reliable? My wife's on second ES350 and they're been flawless
4. What about maintenance costs? I read oil changes are required every 5,000 miles

Thanks in advance

1. I have a 2016 and it comes with Michelin Pilot summer tires. No spare.
2. Yes, '17 and newer have AVS.
3. I had a 2014 IS350 for 4 years and had little to no issues with the exception of one minor recall. It was also well maintained.
4. Yes, every 5K miles is the manufacturer's recommendation.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'll need a separate winter setup then.

Somebody complained about a pretty stiff ride. Is it alleviated on the 17s and later with AVS?

- Tires are Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

2. Am I right that 2017 and later GS F's have adaptive dampers?

-Yep the 2016 is the only year with fixed suspension

3. Is the car "Lexus" reliable? My wife's on second ES350 and they're been flawless

Absolutely, at the core, the vehicle is what a Lexus should be, a luxurious reliable vehicle.

4. What about maintenance costs? I read oil changes are required every 5,000 miles

Theres nothing special in regards to changing oil or doing regular maintenance. Definitely not as expensive as Mercedes chargers for their repair/labor. Oil changes are 5k.

Yes, all of the above are correct.. The 5K oil changes require dino oil, not synthetic.

I really appreciate all the answers.
I live in MD and will need winter tires. According to tirerack no winter wheels are available for GS F but tires are.
I can't believe the owners swap tires twice a year, do they?

Has anybody had to put brakes on the GS F yet? My GS F Sport needed brakes at 22k miles, how long do the pads last on the GS F?

Good question - I just had my 25K oil change and they said my brakes were getting close. Told me that at 20K too. I am easy on brakes for the most part on this car for what that may be worth. Never got more than 20K on my M3 (damn light would come on in the teens) but think I was in the 40's in my ISF when I had it.

It is alleviated somewhat; however, keep your expectations low as it is a high performance sedan and it's not going to ride like an ES.

Where do you live in MD? If it's around DC you might be able to get away with all seasons. I'm in SE VA and DC area has gotten less snow than we have in the last few years and we don't get very much.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking the same. I was Ok driving a number of RWD BMWs on all-seasons. Mercedes E350 is the first AWD car I ever had and I drive it year around on all-seasons. BTW I don't drive ES - my wife does

I'm seriously getting into GS F thanks to all of you

My brake pads lasted until 30k...22k pretty quick to me. But, it all depends on your driving style. Has your brake pad light come on? I won't change it until then.

There are no other "trims". Most GSFs come well equipped and options are minor such as orange brake calipers, HUD (most come with), lighted door sills, etc.
