Very mild tranny slip
#16
FWIW, my 200T (largely the same transmission--AA81E 8AT) occasionally hiccups and "forgets" to shift sometime (strange) but quite rare and works beautifully 99.9% of the time. it ends up shifting, just hangs higher in the revs for an awkward amount of time. I just chalk it up to I don't know maybe a rogue air bubble. Are you sure it's slipping, rather than just a delayed upshift?

After hearing enough feedback here im starting to think this is somewhat normal behavior for this car and not something that needs to be addressed at the dealer. I can’t imagine it would be an easy task anyhow to
a) get the dealer to reproduce it
Or
b) get the dealer to get the tranny fluid level “right” since they don’t recommend touching it under 100k

The procedure is the same as the one in the IS F thread, but the temperature range is different for the RC F and GS F.

Anyone who needs the procedure can PM me. I can't post copyright information that big here. Suffice it to say the procedure is almost identical to the procedure for the IS F, but there are a couple of important differences, not the least of which is a much higher temperature range for checking the level.

The vent is at the top. I typically run mine 4 ounces over full to avoid flare first thing in the morning because I live at the top of a hill and when the car is angled downward and the ATF is cold, it really likes to flare. So, I follow the procedure, then add 4 ounces when it is done to ensure I don't have annoying problems on cold cycle.

My GSF (UK model) does this ever so slightly too before the engine has warmed up. Mine’s a 2016 with about 22k on it.
Used to have the the same problem with my ISF before. It started with the gear changes being a bit hesitant around fast right hand corners, then a bit of transmission flare. A replace/refill of the gearbox fluid at my local dealers solved the problem.
