Or get a fully-loaded GS 350 with all the niceties, supercharge it and call it a day?

I'd rather have a GS F vs a GS 350 with an aftermarket supercharger. There's something special when your car is a beastly little hotrod designed and engineered to be one from the factory, with factory warranty intact. While a supercharger would address the power side of things, there's no doubt that the GS F has a far superior suspension, braking & chassis components designed around that power. A supercharged GS 350 would be out of balance in that sense & in that case, I'd rather have a GS F. Having had an AMG Mercedes before with the 6.2 liter V8, like the GS F, there's a certain magic when everything from looks to performance to the sound comes as such from the factory, a certain harmony

It's fascinating how we all view "content" differently. After having had a couple of tri-star rides loaded with stuff that was cool but periodically failed and was not really needed, I appreciate the simplicity (= increased reliability?) of the GSF. Manual rear windows shades that bind, power rear shades rattling, and (here's the big one) air suspensions needing repair outside of warranty - oooofff. Maybe Lexus's version of all these things are rock solid but that wasn't my experience with Mercedes. Surprisingly, I'm at the point of "less is more" as long as it's simple, reliable, and executed almost perfectly. If I had actually needed these things or even used them regularly, I'd probably feel differently. The flip side? Selling a GSF outside of warranty might be an easier exercise than any comparable model from Europe.

But...I must admit, rear A/C & radio controls would be cool for impressing passengers periodically shuttled to lunch!

Best,
Eric
