Unofficial model year differences 16'-19'
Could this get stickied? As more and more GSF enter the used market, we have users who want to know what the differences are between the 16-19 model years.
So, I took it upon myself to look at all the technical specifications and highlight the changes that were noted by Lexus themselves. In other words, I read and got the information directly from Lexus's brochure and product information for each model year.
NOTE: This only includes US models and if I missed something feel free to correct me. If anyone can get me the tech specs sheets from each country I would gladly edit the post to include those.

<<2018
- Lane Depart Alert (LDA) with lane keep assist with the new addition of Steering Assist (Interesting thing to note, Lexus lists the steering assist feature as included with the 2016 GSF in their brochure but that is incorrect..)>>
FWIW, I believe the '16s do have Steering Assist; at least mine will correct steering when the LDA is switched ON.

That's actually interesting. My 17' doesn't have steering assist, it'll beep to let me know i'm crossing the line but it doesn't vibrate and steer itself like my RX does.
If 2016's do infact have it, I wonder why 2017's excluded from having them, for them to be introduced again in 2018?

Well then, I don't know why Lexus made it a point to include that feature as something new in their 2018 MY. Unless the system is completely different? Not sure but its in the 2018 technical sheet as a new feature. So IDK?

So...I believe on my '16 the steering will only self correct once within a period of time and is meant to guard against unintended lane changes. On the '18s, the steering continuously corrects, hence the upgrade from Steering Assist to Lane Keeping Assist?

There was a calibration out there that corrected this. Mine did the same as yours but after the calibration it very visibly pulled itself back into the lane. The difference between 16 and later years was that LSS+ was optional on the MY16s, standard on 17s+. They all have the LKA/LDA/etc.

Do you mean the zero point calibration for steering and yaw?
