Default Estimate cost of repairs

Long story short, I let my brother borrow my car while I was away on a trip.

How bad is the damage? I haven't gotten to see the car personally yet. From what I've been told: no frame damage, leaking two colors of fluid, and fenders pushed back hitting front doors. Looking for more insight from other members!

Thanks.

Oh gosh, I'm sorry man. I sent this to my friend who is an insurance adjuster and without plugging it in his system, he was thinking around $7,000. However, I have heard that the OEM front grille and carbon fiber parts are in the thousands alone. Might want to look into aftermarket as an option. Hope you get it fixed and everything else is alright.

Hey thanks for the reply. That's good to hear that it doesn't seem as bad as I thought, but who knows what else can be wrong once you get underneath it all. I hope it turns good as well 😭

Yeah, not a total loss for sure if that's what you were wondering

Ouch sorry to see that man! Between the grille assembly and one headlight headlight you're over 10k on list price alone. Don't be surprised if this insurance estimate is in the 20+k range. Factor in possible radiator / condenser replacement, radiator support replacement or repair. This job can start to creep up in cost real quick before you even factor in labor times. Not trying to be a negative nancy by any means.

By all means, you are far from a negative nancy. I rather overestimate to see whats it gonna be like rather than be short. It's crazy that the prices can creep that fast though.

Thanks!

I just wrote up a quick estimate on my CCC estimating software in my shop; I'm already at $20,283.70 with new OEM parts, this is without repair time / paint on the doors and not taking into account Radiators or coolers plus a few essentials R&Is.

Sorry for your loss man. Reminds me of my brother, always crash family member's cars, never his own.

I would go with insurance on this for sure. Pay the deductible and let them handle the rest. If you're gonna get it repaired out of your pocket, I would say check eBay for OEM parts. The front end of GSF is insanely expensive for OEM new parts. By the way, any airbags deployed?

Nice of you to lend the car out, an unfortunate situation for sure. I lent my car to my last girlfriend only 1 time and that 1 time she backed into another car. SMH

2 years ago someone hit my GSF while I was parked (coincidentally I was in the car too and saw it happen). He pushed my front bumper in slightly, didn’t look too bad to be honest. The cost came out to 7k for much less than what happened here so I’d agree with @MasterWork its going to be very expensive.

Sorry about youre car bro. Best advice I can give you is find a shop that will do the work and eat the deductible . negotiate that with the shop of you're choice prior to any work being performed so that you can get out of paying deductables out of pocket. For $20k worh of work, $1k or $500 ain't nothing.

To give an update, I got some preliminary estimates back before adding on anything that could not be seen before taking it apart. That estimate was a little over $24k.

Yeah these cars are expensive to repair, did you go to an insurance company's network shop? Hate to say it, but brace yourself for a potential loss once the supplements start rolling in and the shop does a tear down.

This doesn't have the correct setup for the GS F headlights, but if companies start making stuff similar to this that fit the GS F, it can possibly salvage a car after a frontal accident vs totaling it because of the extreme cost of the CFRP pieces.
