Try this, when in manual mode, pull on the downshift paddle and don't release. It will immediately go to the lowest gear possible allowing you to take off quicker!
I tried this in my GS-F but it don't seem to work? I know some cars do this hence why I tried on the GS-F but no success. Maybe this feature not on North American models?

My GS460 did it although it didn't have steering paddles.
