Default Factory Carbon Front Lip

Any one know of a aftermarket replacement for the factory carbon front lip on the GSF? Mine is all rock chipped up and I don't really feel like paying $3500 for a new one.

Thanks!

How bad is it? A simple sand down and resin built back up with a clear coat should bring it back to life.

The front is really chipped up. The top that you can really see has a bunch and it looks like the chips go all the way down to the carbon. I've been to 2 body shops and they both said they couldn't fix it.

Mine's fine now much I know the wife will F it up in future years.

It'd be really great if somebody would just make an aftermarket piece that fits in there

If yours is good now, I’d get clear bra put on it ASAP.

It would be great. I just can’t find one anywhere online. Only lips that fit the whole front bumper.

I agree there needs to be an aftermarket carbon fiber option.

Most GS-F I've seen have pretty chewed up front lips.

I cant believe there isn’t an option yet for an aftermarket one.

The only clean ones I’ve seen have really low miles on it. I just bought mine with 10,000 miles on it, and it is trashed!

Try to find second hand ones on eBay. It may take time to find them but they do come up for sale occasionally. I have an extra pair of very lightly used grille surround, and lower grille which includes carbon lip that I picked up on eBay sitting at home in case I need to change it. I think in total i spent less than 1k for those parts altogether.

There is a few on ebay right now. The cheapest is 1400 with the lower grill, but it is pretty beat up. Another one is 2000 with a couple chips and the lower grill. And the last one is 3200 for the whole grill assembly. It looks to be in pretty good shape with only a few chips in it.

I'm still trying to find someone to fix mine, but it's not looking good so far.

I'd love to have a spare one, and hopefully another one will show up.

I'm dreading the day mine get damaged.
It's going to be war with my insurance company.

I don't think that they'll fix the rock chips for you, but a nice tire to hit on the freeway will fix the problem. HAHA

Just rewrap it carbon fiber vinyl. It will look good again.

I thought about that too, but it just doesn't look quite the same.

I've seen some dealers do that for lips that were pretty chewed up - it looked tacky in my opinion.

When driving around in past rides, the things that would haunt me included turbo failure, air suspension replacement, 1 of 2 batteries dying, creaks, rattles, etc.. It's pretty cool the only thing that concerns me (like everyone else on this thread) is what the hell do you do once the Carbon Lip takes a beating!

Based on the small numbers produced and a desired ROI, I can't imagine anyone tooling a replacement lip (even non carbon) but I have my fingers crossed. I was hoping the local shop could sand and reclear but if that's not feasible (and surprised it's not) then some gloss black wrap may have to do the trick. I can tell you that there is about zero chance I'll spend anything north of $200 to fix. For those that still have pristine examples, I hope you get it clear wrapped as soon as possible (I should have).

Best,
Eric
