Accord V6 better and itch for something else?
Used to take GS-F to train station and take train into City for work. With COVID, didnt want to take GSF into the city due to crappy roads and a ridiculously tight and stacked parking garage, and dont see myself taking the train anytime soon, so bought a used 2017 Accord v6 Touring for commuting. You know what, as a daily driver I prefer the Accord (so smooth) so the GSF just sits most of the time. Thinking about unloading the GSF and maybe getting a 718 as a weekend toy. Help convince me otherwise!

I don’t know if I’m just still not over the newness of having the GSF after wanting one for so long. But I couldn’t see getting rid of mine.
I have a 3G Acura TL as a daily, and a S2000 as a weekend toy. I purchased the GSF to replace the TL and just be a fun daily. But after buying it I couldn’t see myself driving it every day so I kept the TL. So now I split weekends between the S2000 and GSF. It’s just such a solid car, comfortable, quiet, refined, aggressively styled. And just amazing to take on cruises.
Every time I drive it or look at it. I just can’t imagine not having it in the garage at the end of the day.

Really depends on your needs. Is the 718 going to be a weekend car or more for the track?
If you're talking GT4 or Spyder, I say go for it!
Going from a NA V8 to a 4banger turbo you may end up being a little disappointed with the engine. The NA GTS is also an option.
Best thing you can do is go and test drive. See how it makes you feel.

My 2 cents: driving matters to me, and I dont just live during the weekends, so what I daily drive also matters to me. GSF makes a perfect daily, good balance of performance, reliability and comfort. Also COVID is not gonna last forever, and the used car market is not the best right now for sellers (weak demand, unemployment, and Hertz flooding the used car market)

I had a 2018 718 GTS. It's performance was mind blowing, yet the engine noise (4 cylinder) and general comfort of the car were not as good as my LC and GS F. Definitely would be a great track car though!!! I just didn't find myself wanting to jumping into it and going for a drive on a regular basis...whereas I do in the GS F and LC. I also feel safer driving in a busy area in the Lexus cars (more size and weight). I still love Porsche, but found I didn't need that much hardcore performance at the cost of some comfort for all the city driving I do. Of the cars I've had lately, Macan S, 718 GTS, M550i, RC F, LC 500, and GS F. GS F might be my favorite and a keeper long term. It's very comfortable to drive everyday...yet has the sound and acceleration to put a smile on my face. Not to mention having my favorite interior. Just my .02.

Back in the day I got rid of my ISF, it was fun at and bought a brand new Highlander. Being all practical and all... worst decision ever. Highlander lasted about a month before I got a LS. TOok some years to finally convince my self to get a GSF. it’s such a rare and fun car to drive. Keep it.

Thanks all. Going to keep the GSF. Accord is a great daily, but when I drove it hard this weekend, it just doesn't compare. Agree that 718 just isnt practical especially since I have a bigger frame.

I too debated a used newer Accord V6 as a DD as well. The newest Accords (4cyl) also have the CTR engine in them and can be tuned for only $800 or so by Hondata. You can get a really fun practical car with room to mod and a stick-shift. While I don't deny it would have been a fun car that I didn't mind getting banged up, the GSF is simply just as practical and so much more special. While I was considering my DD I had 3 or so friends buy new Accords. They are just so common and lack the wow factor of the GSF. As an enthusiast, I think you made the right choice.
Great to see others also considered the 718 Cayman.
Only thing I would say I miss is the manual stick-shift. Driving is such a different experience without it. It may be the reason for me to move onto my next car, despite already having a manual weekend warrior.

I'd put a supercharger on the GS F. Adding another 100 hp will remove any doubt in your mind.

At times I've also thought about trading it in for something more powerful, but the reliability , build quality and rarity of the car always has me changed my mine. It's just a fun car to drive and easy when you want it to be.
When you hear Matt Farah says he wants one and Doug Demuro saying it's a great used buy, it's probably worth keeping for the long term.
