Default Seibon Carbon fiber hood for GS

Hi all,

I've read a few threads on the forums about this hood. It seems fitment is good, and quality is the usual. On their website it shows that hood pins are required. I am wondering if this is just got liability, or did everyone on here put on hood pins?

I've read that weight savings are very little (2-4 lbs) and since it's not much then hood pins aren't a concern at high speeds?

If you have a white gsf with CF hood, please post pics!

Thanks for your input!

I have a white GSF, Carbon Fiber everything with exception of hood. If you have any experience with carbon fiber, you'll know that the 🌞 warps carbon fiber over time. Especially on the hood.

id recommend just going for a wrap. Hope this helps...

I wish we had the same hood selections that the RCF and ISF has.

Good information. Thank you. I'll just get a front camera instead :-)

The sun shouldn't warp a quality carbon hood. Make sure you get it UV cleared. As far as hood pins go, I'd definitely recommend them. THere are several brands available now that are hardly visible. At high speeds I've seen latches torn off of carbon hoods, which results in a lot of body damage, broken windshields and lost visibility.

I've been running the Seibon carbon hood for over a year now. Have not experienced any warping! I also, have several friends that have the Seibon hood on
other Lexus models without any issues for multiple years either

As for hood pins. I just recently installed them after a year. With my power I would get some hood shaking @ high mph. With them the hood
sits better too. Definitely recommend them

Last page shows the hood pins install..

Good luck either way!

Thanks all, I decided not to get the hood mainly because of the hood pins needed. The warping and extra work needed to be done was just an add-on.

I've decided to buy beatsonic front camera and am going to attempt to wire it to a stock heated steering wheel or sun shade button that our GSFs leave blank for a cleaner look.

The hood pins are not needed. They are recommended though. I've had multiple people run without hood pins with no issues.

Either way, let me know if you'd like a price on it shipped!
