Winter ok or not ok?

I didn’t mean to question you in Michelin’s tires as they make a wide variety of different tires (we have Michelin x ice winters on an is250. I was simply saying it’s impossible to drive on snow or ice with Michelin performance tires (pilot sports etc) that come on the car. Summer tires won’t work period. Too wide, too much power, and they get too hard when cold. The car is great in the winter with the right tires

I glanced through the manual and didn't see anything about winter tires. All it says is this.
My guess is you also inflate your tires up 8 psi when driving in the winter. I still stick to what I said before- for the stock tire sizes the Sottozero 3 didn't give me much confidence in the snow. The manual also mentions the GSF does not support snow chains. I guess we are supposed to have a winter beater then?

I drive mine in the winter in Toronto and no problems. It gets a little tricky when you are in 4 inches of snow and steeper uphill.
When I drive it, it is usually with snow mode on.
If the car is not going forward just turn the snow mode off, if it still doesn't work go to traction track mode. I have never been stuck in the snow after 3 winters.

I'm in Kansas City which doesn't get a huge amount of snow but on the factory tires I would spin the tires with pretty much a dusting on the ground. The car was worthless in the snow. My GSF is a daily driver so I ended up putting Continental DWS06's on the car and it moves around town with a couple of inches no problem. For a daily driver, the Continental's made the car exactly how I would want it. Smooth and comfortable ride like a Lexus should be without feeling each and every bump in the road but then you still have the HP for having some fun.

This is a good point. Snow mode isn't always the best. The thing that got me out of a snowed in parking lot at a ski resort was manual mode. I'm sure snow mode was meant for actually driving around but getting unstuck may require using track mode or manual mode.
