Default Tom’s carbon fiber kit install

I’m getting this installed on the car this weekend and having someone doing the work that has experience working on exotics. I’m trying to rough calculate what the labor cost will be but not sure how long it takes. Anyone have an idea as to how much time it will take?

1) Front lip
2) Side skirts
3) Rear diffuser

Front lip takes not even 10 minutes to install. Each side skirt may take an hour each to install and the rear diffuser about an hour as well. I started the install for my full kit at about 12:00pm and finished everything by 7:00pm that night. I took my time though and don't have a lift.

It is not at all labor intensive. If I recall, there was a user here that said they paid a shop $600 to install their Toms kit and that IMO along with everyone else's opinion in that thread thought that was ridiculous. $300 maybe.

How was the drilling of the front lip? Did they provide the bit?

I don't have an Instagram page but now you have me thinking about it. If I do create one for the car, I will post it on my build thread. Click here for the Arctic Knight build

Thanks for the feedback TrevorR. Did you PPF your side skirts and front lip? Any pics of the your car with the Tom's kit on it? I always enjoy looking at those, never gets old.

I would totally recommend that you PPF the front lip and side skirts. They will take the brunt of the beating on the road, especially the side skirts since anything that the tires kick up will hit them now. See if your installer has thicker material to use there. These parts are super expensive and are very high quality. The extra cost of the PPF will go a long way.

Steve, 100% agree with you here. I have an appointment set for March 12th to get the front lip and side skirts wrapped in PPF. I might also have the roof wrapped in carbon fiber but still debating on that one .

30 minutes for front, 30 minutes for the rear, 1- 1/2 hours for the sides (people remove the side skirts off the car)

So since everyone seems to be on Instagram, I have created a page for my build. I will also be doing a photo shoot or two this summer. Hopefully I can find some other F owners up here in the frozen north for a meet up and photo's this summer. Anyone here on CL from MN?

Yeah they provide self tapping screws.

You do have to drill holes for the side skirts since the screws are not self tapping though

And yes, definitely recommend PPF the side skirts with a thicker material. In only 100 miles of local non highway driving, there is road rash already on my side skirts....

I wonder if the CF mudguards would work if one was to also install the CF sideskirts.. would def help block a lot of the road debris hitting the sideskirts but can they be installed together?

The original version of the carbon guards works with the Toms side skirts. The V2 guards apparently do not work with the Toms side skirts.

For novel side skirts, the original guards definitely work but I’m not certain about version 2. I’ll check tomorrow and post an update.

Edit: V2 guards fit just fine with the novel side skirts.
