Advice on wheel set up/suspension
Hey CL .. was wanting to get some advice regarding a potential wheel setup I am after and help answering a couple questions of mine along with my objectives.. Car is 2019 GSF and is 100% stock with no suspension mods at the moment. The specs are as follows
Front
20X10 + 25 High Disk
275/30/20 MIchelin Pilot Super Sport
20X11 +27 Medium Disk
295/30/20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport
1) I want to retain the stock AVS. I will not be tracking the car or driving a lot of miles.. once in a while some light canyon driving.. But mostly 200-300 miles a month. I was iniitally looking at going for Swift Spec-R springs to accomplish this but was wondering if any other springs offer slighlty more conservative drop... like maybe 1" front and 3/4" rear..
2) If I were to acquire this wheel set and not drop the car (at least initially) would the slight increase in diameter increase the wheel gap?
3) I'm looking for a conservative drop.. as it sits I'm ok with how the rear sits (could use around a .5" drop) but the reverse rake is what bugs me and looking to fix it by dropping front around 1"
4) If I go with this wheel and tire setup and swift springs (what I planned on doing for lowering before ) will I potentially hit the fender/fender liner in the rear and or rubbing at full lockout in the front? I don't want to make any modifications to the existing fender like rolling. also would still like to occasionally have a passenger or two in the rear seats and not having rear wheels rub significantly. (its how I sold getting a performance sedan instead of a SUV to my wife lol)
5) Is this wheel and tire setup and its specs considered an aggressive setup.. I was looking at doing 20X 9.5 and 20X10.5 but wanted to see member's feedback who have this current wheel width .the current owner is lowered on LEMS coil overs and rides low and suggested if I don't want to modify the fender to get 265 up front and 285 in rear.
Not sure if i'm putting the cart before the horse here by figuring out what suspension mods would work with this kind of wheel set and meet my objectives... but def interested in these wheels for my car. Would def appreciate any input. Thanks guys

Are those custom wheels? The rear is pretty aggressive.
Swift Springs are a great spring.

Yes ... SSR GT3 .. owner bought a 19" set and had them built to 20" with new parts using old faces... new powdercoated black face and brand new inner and outer barrels with new valve stems and custom carbon fiber centric caps with SSR hubcentric rings for Toyota/Lexus (description taken from sales post)

I think I know the wheels you are talking about. I thought about them, but the offsets are too aggressive for my taste and I think you risk hitting the inner fender over large dips and during aggressive cornering. I decided against them. I think you're better off in the +35 range. This is a great app to use when it comes to looking at offsets and how the width affects them:

That front wheel is out 38mm further than stock.

What do you want to accomplish with this setup? Is it pure visual performance?

based on feedback the wheels I’m interested in are just too aggressive ... still debating because I really like the combination step lip and color and face of these custom wheels ... just wish they were 9.5 and 10.5 with milder offsets .. I really do want to upgrade to 20’s though cuz visually speaking I think they compliment the car better IMO ..

my end objective is to have somewhat of a balanced setup for aesthetics while retaining some driving performance ..no plans to track at all and light canyon driving maybe once every 2-3 months .. outside of that my driving habit is very behaved and I rarely drive in Sport + ..

From my experienced do not get a 20 inch if it is not forged. I got a Works VS TX and it bent on the first season, and i try to dodge all potholes. 30 profile tires is just too damn thin for such a heavy car.

I had a Infiniti g35 and ran work step lip Varianza T1S 21” 10.5 + 25 with 295/25/21 in the rear ..granted the road noise and comfort were not very good but the work wheels held up really well over the course of the 5-6 yrs I had em.. but I never drove the car hard or thru the canyons like I have with the GS F..

You will rub like crazy in the front and the rear with lowering the car on that wheel and tire set up.
20x9.5 et +30 and a 275/30/20 will work great
20x11 et +40and a 295/30/20 will work without rubbing

Talked to seller and he suggested moving the 20X10 + 25 to the rear , relipping the 20X11+ 25 to 20X9.5 or 20X9 + 25 and moving the high disk face (currently on the 20X10) to the new 20X9.5 .. also would keep 275 up front and 295 in the rear tires .. what do u guys think?
