Default OEM Mid-pipe replaced under Powertrain Warranty

What’s up team.

Had a bad vibration/ticking under my 16 GSF. Originally thought it was a bent heat shield touching the exhaust. Took it in to a local dealer and they diagnosed it as a weld on a mid-pipe busted. Quoted me…$4,200 for the job.

Was about to take it to a welder but decided to ask about warranty. My advisor initially said no but looked into it for me (awesome dude). Ended up getting a new mid-pipe under powertrain because he said the mid-pipe was close enough to the cats to qualify.

Didn’t think it would qualify. Got blessed today.

same thing happened with my 2016 GSF. Lexus El Cajon in San Diego also replaced it under warranty.

Wow damn. $4200 just for a Mid-pipe?

Glad it worked out for you!

Meanwhile I am waiting for my new exhaust system

$4200 is crazy. You can get the PPE with GESI cats, which flows better, for $1800.
