Grom Apple/Android installed -review
Ordered the Grom V-line - wireless apple car play unit for the GSF - install was pretty straight forward . Took me about 2 hours since i had to remove the radio/screen/glove box - and also make a hole in the filter cover for wire access.
I've got the Beat Sonic Apple car play in my LX570 - and they are pretty much identical . Few minor differences - the Grom does not look stretched on the screen - it fits pretty well - functions on both are the same . Grom also has wireless so no wires around you need to plug into it , you can leave your phone in the center console out of the way and its connected . Only downfall is its slower , once your in the car its takes a while for it to find your phone and connects seems to want to connect with wifi and bluetooth to work . Also you have to hold the map button down for 30+seconds for it to get over into the carplay - and to come back to the lexus screen youll be holding it for another good amount of time . The beat sonic is alot faster you hold it for 5 seconds and your where you want to be . The instructions tell you to hit the media button to get over to the applycar play / grom setting but that does not work - i feel the instuctions are basic and for all GS models and the GSF may be slightly different . The installation video they have is also not good , they dont show you the best ways to run the wires or any of that , Beat sonic install video was alot more informative .
Im still working out a few things , and learning the settings , like mentioned above the instructions and video on grom suck , you literally have to go through and figure out everything yourself . My main concern was running google maps / waze for my drives - i got that working so the rest is just extra for me .
If i had to do it all over again , i think i would still go with the grom due to screen quality and wireless.

Yes plug and play , did you make use to disconnect the battery before you started ? car needs to have no power running through it during the installation process.
