Default Square setup ?

So I picked up another set of the oe BBS hand polished wheels for the F. My og owner didn't take the best care of the wheels and there's a couple spots w baked on brake dust. Having 2 sets now I'm considering running rear wheels upfront. I know they fit, clear the brakes and have a slightly more aggressive offset. Also considering running a square setup w wider then stock tires up-front.

Anyone else gone down this road? Any negative side effects w this way of thinking? Running square and having the ability to properly rotate the tires seems like a win but maybe I'm missing something.

Appreciate any feedback. PFA.

I didn't realize the offset would even work. A square setup would be great if it works---properly.

Awesome photo!

Go for it. It will be nice to be able to rotate tires. I’d throw a spacer out back to bring the factory wheel out flush. I run a 20mm with the studs already included (H&R).

I know a lexus tech who uses a spare Rear wheels for his GSF spare cuz it fits all 4 corners. The front wheels will not fit the back. Fyi.

I'm currently running the (H&R) 15mm on all 4 corners. May bump it up to 20. Would you happen to know if a 285 or 295 would fit up front?

Going from the factory 18X9 to the rear 18X10 moves the wheel out 22mm toward the fender. A 285 might fit, but it will be close. Keeping the factory 275/35/19 may make more sense.

I agree. After doing some homework on this yesterday I dont think i need tp overcomplicate the situation. Running 275/35/19 square is the plan.

My summer set is a square 19x10 from the RCF. Front and back, 19x10 with 295/30/19 SUMITOMO HTR Z5 XL...

275/35 does not fit, to tall and will rub (switch your front and rear wheels and drive in a circle, you'll see). Even this 295/30 has a slight rub on full lock.

good to know. Are you lowered at all, or stock height?

Stock height, i'd imagine with a modest lowering spring upgrade, it may rub even more on full lock. But I've never had any rubbing on high speed dips in the road. But obviously if you are loading the suspension while tracking the car, you probably don't care about the inner fender wear. Mine is a daily driver, I just really like the look of the RCF base wheels, they have a nice concave to them in 19x10. (Makes life easier to clean the brake dust off)

Wait so is there a actual setup that would not rub? Also ya those RCF wheels look nice.

Just out of curiosity...

What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a square setup on our cars?
